Right-to-work legislation, by design, breaks up unions; hurting the very people it is supposed to protect. These laws allow those who benefit from collective bargaining by unions to avoid paying union dues, cutting off a vital source of funding for unions and stacking the deck yet again in favor of corporate profits.

We all know that this is an attempt by big business and the GOP to break the ability for workers to have meaningful union protection. Workers in sates with their own "right to work" laws make significantly lower wages than in other states. This legislation allows workers to force unions to represent them even if they choose not to pay dues to support that representation. Big businesses don't care about their workers as much as they care about their stock holders and huge corporate salaries. Unions are the only avenue for working class Americans to hold big business accountable and get fair treatment in the workplace. Please vote no.

This is a bill that would limit workers rights to organize and union's rights to protect their workers.

Right To Work laws only serve to benefit the corporate elite and top 1%. Everyone else (middle class and small business owners) suffer in areas that have Right To Work laws. There is a mountain of data that backs this up too

Nobody should be forced to join a union. It should be a choice.

The Republican Party keeps claiming to want smaller federal government and wants to leave issues up to the states. Historically, states have been able to make the right-to-work decision for themselves. It's unclear why states can no longer be trusted to make those decisions. States that give unions power tend to have better wages and working conditions than states that don't. For a party that claims to value the American worker, who was voted into power on this premise, this is a harsh attack on wages and working conditions. And don't claim this bill will somehow magically "create jobs." It's not enough to create jobs if those jobs are not worth having.

This kills unions. Unions are vital for any workforce. They allow workers to form a group and demand fair benefits, wages, hours, and many other services that we take for granted today. This just allows corporations to treat their employees like trash and pay them practically nothing.

Right to work laws are that in name only. What this law really does is to take away workers rights to bargain collectively. This bill should be called a right to fire legislation. Vote NO!

I thought our President was for the working class. If so, why strip them of tools to fight the wealthy corporations?

Right-to-work means the opposite. It promotes the idea of a worker's right not to be required to join a labor union, weakening your collective rights as laborers and gives employers the upper hand. It also allows them to fire you for no reason, with no warning.

This is designed to cripple unions' political activities by destroying their finances. The result will be to diminish working people everywhere. Remember, workers' rights are human rights!

The decision to hire a person and that person to accept a job offer is between the individual employer and individual job applicant. Any decision to join or not join a union is voluntary and any pressure by a union is coercion and be treated as a violation of a person's civil rights.

I second Loraki's opinion. I support some private unions, but public labor unions have become so corrupt they're equal to a legalize version of the Mafia.
