Sanctuary Campuses: Should Colleges That Don’t Comply With Immigration Law Be Denied Federal Funding?

Argument in favor

Colleges and universities that refuse to comply with immigration law should have their federal funding for student loans and grants cut off. If the people who live in that state support that policy, they can pick up that tab.

You have American kids not able to get into colleges because illegals are taking the slots available. People need to be here legally or not at all.

Absolutely! You don’t get to pick and choose what laws to follow. Same with sanctuary cities/states!

They are in violation of federal law. Yes funding should be denied and why has the feds not taken action against them. Such as arrest and ice deporting illegal students??

Argument opposed

It would be incredibly spiteful to deny institutions of higher education access to loans that enable more students to further themselves academically simply because the school doesn’t want to help deport unauthorized immigrants.

This is a joke right? It is absurd that having a conscience under the present administration now puts cities and college campus in legal jeopardy. Where is the common sense in this? We are human beings who are supposed to care for one another not be lemmings in a political ping pong match

How many more ways can the Republican Cult find to demonstrate hate, bigotry, racism, and division? They really need to rename themselves the White Nationalist Party.

Everyone deserves an education. If someone can prove that they pay taxes if they work, they should be allowed to study in peace. They will only contribute better to our society.
