“Redskin” is a deeply offensive slur against Native Americans. It’s disgusting that the term is used for sports mascots, let alone that people can trademark it.
Many sports teams have been using “redskins” in their formal name or nickname for decades — it's part of a tradition, and they have a right to use it in their merchandise.
