The federal government should never create a registry that logs the religion of citizens, legal immigrants or people seeking to come to America. Such a registry would blatantly violate the Constitution.
If people are willing to provide information about their religious beliefs to the government then federal agencies should be able to ask and log it in a registry. The real problem isn’t a registry, but what it could be used for.
