Major Richard Star Act

Official Title

To amend title 10, United States Code, to expand eligibility to certain military retirees for concurrent receipt of veterans' disability compensation and retired pay or combat-related special compensation, and for other purposes.

    The Major Richard Star Act would grant total offset relief to veterans who suffered combat injuries or illnesses who were medically retired with less than 20 years of active federal service, like me. The Major Richard Star Act would eliminate the inequitable offset for 42,000 Chapter 61 retirees who have suffered injuries in combat.
