Heroes at Home Act

Official Title

To amend title 38, United States Code, to authorize the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to enter into contracts for the transfer of veterans to non-Department adult foster homes for veterans who are unable to live independently.

Summary

Heroes at Home Act - Authorizes the Secretary of Veterans Affairs (VA) to transfer an eligible veteran who requests a transfer to a non-VA nursing home to transfer such veteran to an adult foster home that meets VA standards, pursuant to a contract between the VA and the foster home. Requires a veteran so transferred to agree, as a transfer condition, to accept home health services furnished by the VA.
