If Our Military Has to Fly Coach Then so Should Congress Act of 2014
Official Title
To prohibit the use of funds provided for the official travel expenses of Members of Congress and other officers and employees of the legislative branch for airline accommodations which are not coach-class accommodations, and for other purposes.
Not unless they pay for it themselves. I don't get first class accommodations from my employer, and I am the employer here.
If they want to fly first class, they should pat the difference!
I agree. However, if this in anyway puts a Congressman or Senator in danger, it should not be passed. There are terrorists out there and idiots.
If the legislation is as simple as represented here, it is too simple. For domestic travel, coach class should be adequate for most travel. But long-haul international travel in which the traveler is expected to be sharp and ready to work on arrival or the next morning is different. This may not be a matter of luxury; more likely a provision for our representatives to work effectively.
What makes MOC better than the folks that put them there?
If they pay for upgrade fine but they should start acting like the rest of us We the people.
Why are we concerned with this? Cut congresses pay, but what does this accomplish besides vengeance on a bad congress.
