What is H.R. 4092?

According to the House Committee Energy & Commerce, this bill would 


establish a Department of Energy clearinghouse to disseminate information about available federal programs and financing mechanisms that may be used to support energy efficiency, distributed generation, and energy retrofitting projects for schools.

Argument in favor

Helps ensure that federal agencies are utilizing to the fullest extent possible all cost- effective measures for energy conservation. Promotes energy efficiency initiatives in our nation’s schools.

Argument opposed

More bark than bite: creates a clearinghouse for energy-efficiency information, but takes no further action. A good bill to talk to locals about in an election year.
