house Bill H.R. 399

Should Congress Authorize More Money For Securing U.S. National Borders?

Argument in favor

National security needs to be Congress’ top priority. International drug cartels, illegal immigration, human trafficking, and even terrorism can be prevented by passing this bill, which comprehensively outlines new measures to improve DHS to keep U.S. borders secure.

"Any reform should have three components: It must uphold existing laws, protecting our borders and enforcing our laws against recruiting, hiring, and exploiting undocumented workers, It needs to be fair to all taxpayers and to legal immigrants. There should be a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, but one that would require them to pay taxes and go to the back of the line, and It needs to help us retain talent trained at our world-class institutions and support job creation." Argument opposed

This bill wastes taxpayer dollars on initiatives that might sound effective, but don't address the root causes of illegal border crossing. By pouring money into DHS, but imposing a tight deadline, the bill has unrealistic expectations and creates a dangerous false sense of security.

The last three decades of American immigration politics have created a massive payday for military contractors, and have wasted millions of taxpayer dollars. We shouldn't spend our hard-earned money on a cultural war that's often rooted in racist fear-mongering, and too frequently lines the pockets of military profiteers. Join us in voting no on H.R. 399

"When I took office, I committed to fixing this broken immigration system. And I began by doing what I could to secure our borders. Today, we have more agents and technology deployed to secure our southern border than at any time in our history. And over the past six years, illegal border crossings have been cut by more than half." [whitehouse.gov]

North America is essentially made up of immigrants. Are we truly Americans? No., because we are not Native American. So why would we spend millions or billions of money on a stupid border? These immigrants are helping our nation, if anything, by providing us with cleaner houses, taking care of our children and above all, integrating a variety of great cultures into our daily lives that give us knowledge of the world without having to travel further. Stop enforcing the border. We need to stop being such hypocrites, America.

Yes, more money should be allocated for the border if necessary. But remember that Ex-POTUS to be, reallocated border security money into transporting minor illegal children to their illegal immigrant parents or relatives inside the US. He also re-directed immigration money into importing foreign immigrants from Muslim countries and Australia that were found to be non-comparable for citizenship. The US will also need $million$$ for transportation in returning these same immigrants found to be criminals or having dubious histories.

Maybe we shouldn't have spent and shouldn't continue spending so much money in Iraq and Afghanistan and spend a fraction of that money we would use in the Middle East to get rid of the cartels and their influence in South America and get rid of garbage free trade agreements so there will be safety and security in these countries and chances to find jobs and make money so people won't want to come here. People aren't coming here because they think this country is so star spangled awesome. It's because they fear for their lives. Cartels don't have an ideological draw that Isis and alqueda has on the people in the Middle East. Cartels and corrupt violent politicians don't get the sympathy and support of the people they get the fear and getting rid of their influence would allow the citizens of these South American countries to stay where they are, and even lead to people who are illegal in this country to go back. Securing our borders isn't a solution, that was evident when east Germany securing the border from west Germany didn't stop people from finding other means to get to west Germany. Stop spending money fighting an ideology in the Middle East with allies who helped create these terrorist groups (aka Saudi Arabia) and start spending some money and resources getting rid of the violent influences in South America

If you want to cut down on illegal jobs, go after the businesses who hire them. And criminally charge them. Lock up a few CEO's, and see how fast the supply of jobs for illegals dries up. Also issue seasonal permits for those who come up here to pick the crops that no one else will.

Legalize all drugs. Tax them. Control them. Take the money out of illegal cartel activities. That will change things in Central and South America for people wanting to escape the atrocities.
