The American public deserves to know what prompted the federal investigation into President Trump, as well as whether the investigation was politically motivated. This bill would ensure there is sufficient transparency about what happened and establish a better process for similar situations in the future.
Given the DOJ’s ongoing investigations into the Russia probe’s origins, this bill is unnecessary. AG William Barr and the U.S. attorney for Connecticut, along with senior agency officials, are already investigating all the issues that’d be under this bill’s purview.
