The Confederate flag represents one of the worst periods of U.S. history — a time of injustice, racial repression, and a war that killed more Americans than any other. It shouldn’t be publicly displayed at federal cemeteries.
Preventing the Confederate flag from being shown on the two days per year when it is displayed at national cemeteries is not only a waste of Congress' time, but a flagrant lack of respect for a part of this nation's history.
