I have a valid handgun permit for my current state, Indiana, but when I go and visit family in Maryland it doesn’t carry over. Just by crossing a state line, I would go from being completely legal to committing a felony and risking 5 years in prison.
NJ has draconic gun control laws that punish law abiding citizens with felonies should they have to take a pee break on the way to the range. NJ’s hurdles to get a gun are actually ok with me but the transport and carry laws are ridiculous and push this moderate to the right (just so the law can land in the middle)
I’ve voiced my opinion on this previously but it’s worth voicing it again. I live in Mississippi, a free state, where I can and do legally carry a concealed firearm just about everywhere I go, especially if my family is with me. I’m originally from Maryland, a not so free state. When I travel to see family, I have to leave my ability to protect myself and my family at home or risk a felony if caught. That is unacceptable. The constitution is clear on this right. Vote yes on this bill!
