Prohibits funding any and all components of the Affordable Health Act, also known as Obamacare. Disallows entitlements under Obamacare. Rescinds unobligated balances under Obamacare. What is it?
If enacted, the bill would repeal all components of Obamacare. Such legislation would theoretically set in motion a series of events that would return health insurance to a state pre-Obamacare. Such a transition would affect health coverage for millions of Americans.
A CBO cost estimate is not available.
Defund Obamacare Act of 2013
To prohibit the funding of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Frankly, I find it disappointing more then half the people believe you can just "pull the plug" on the affordable care act. While I don't agree with the reasoning obamacare should be replaced I understand why people could possibly think that way. That still doesn't mean you can just take it away like that. 11.3 MILLION Americans are on obamacare and to take it our from under them is beneath even your everyday republican, and that's saying a lot. And now people are listening to trump because obviously his logic would make sense. Only one of the richest people in the world would understand how people who can't even afford there healthcare feels.
We need the subsidies. Before Obamacare, I was paying over $1000 per month for health insurance. I was about to be homeless with those co-pays, plus a medical emergency. It makes no sense to revoke a plan that has a lot of parts that are working well without a real alternative healthcare plan in place.
Let competitive markets that actually deal with healthcare handle this. The government is NOT what should be involved in the healthcare industry. Look at the premiums and deductibles. People can NOT afford this. Ramming it down our throats wasn't very good either.
It's dangerous to do a repeal and delay and to defund planned parenthood along with it. They don't have an alternative plan. They need to slow down and wait until they have a good plan of their own or just fix and amend parts of Obamacare without defunding planned parenthood. They're about to leave millions without health insurance and options. That's not right.
