house Bill H.R. 266

$35.8 Billion to Fund National Parks, Land Management Agencies, and the EPA

Argument in favor

This bipartisan bill would fully fund the National Park Service, other federal land management agencies, and the Environmental Protection Agency for the rest of FY2019 — all of which are currently affected by the partial government shutdown.

The government serves the people. It should do so all day, every day. I would like to see a bill to keep this kind of ridiculousness from ever happening again.

Now this makes a whole lot more sense than building a wall. Helping people vs. harming people. What happened to the golden rule. Please don't let the Trump affect turn you into a scrooge.

Thank you! This is what our country needs and we do support science, research and actively confronting climate change. We support our national parks and monuments and we expect our congressional delegates to do the same

Argument opposed

While this bill may be bipartisan, it has no chance of becoming law unless a deal is struck on border security. Congress should focus its time and effort on reaching an overarching funding compromise.

Protect our borders! Stop trying to get around the shutdown! Fund the wall and then fund everything else as needed. Do your job and protect our country!

No, you give me my money back, and then I will decide how worthy each agency is of my money based on how much I value the good or service they offer. Just like I do with every transaction in the free market. I don't need you stealing my money and then spending it for me. I'm quite capable of doing my own spending.

Nothing in this bill is constitutional. Every issue here is more efficiently managed by its respective state.

Dear Congressman Buchanan, Please vote yes to fully fund the government and end this idiotic shutdown. We do not need a wall and we do not want a wall. We have plenty of border security. The humanitarian crisis at the border is one of Trump’s own making, and he can unmake it, without the wall. Open the government now.

My son’s career is in limbo...he was in the hiring phase of working for the US Forest Service as a recent college graduate. Please vote in favor of this not only for my son but for the sake of ALL federal employees.

How about 30 Billion for that and 5.8 Billion for the border wall? Also we seriously need to downsize the EPA!

The Republicans need to look up the definition of obstructionism. The Democrats and the Congress are passing legislation to get the budget back in place and get the furloughed workers back on the job. Trump and McConnell and the Senate not willing to sit down and discuss anything about the budget with them is obstructionism. Democratic Congress has already said they are willing to discuss this idiotic wall after everything else is funded that is not obstructionism that is cooperation. If you don't own a dictionary you can actually look up the meaning of the words using your smartphones. But when one party is trying to work to solve the problem and the other party refuses to work with them then the parties that is refusing to work with anyone is the obstructionist party in this case that is the Republican Party. Quit pouting and do your jobs.

AGAINST!!Look all this is nice ...but not important ,, The people want the wall up! You can wait on much of this.. Your putting OUR money in places that really doesn't need to be. Your not concerned about our safety. Some say helping people rather than harming?? your insane to say this.. You must not be too informed bout the thousands of Americans killed by illegals. We are the greatest country in the world ! We have laws and rules. To be honest many immigrants that applied the RIGHT way to be in our country are just as upset over these people thinking they can just barge in with their drug cartels , rapists, criminald, terrorists and what not.. Is there a problem with coming here the right way..?? Being vetted ..? NO! Unless your shaky and don't want people to know about you. And the so called "good" ones? the ones that drag their children this distance using them as tools thinking it will get them in? They end up costing us a fortune ! And where are we suppose to put them? Any remorse for the families that will never see their loved ones again because they were killed by illegals that should never have been here in the first place It's not just a few incidents thousands and thousands..okay? Your all so worried about the parks ?? What good will our parks be if we have to worry about getting killed on our way to them?? THINK! and for the ones against the wall..How many of these people will you let live with you...PLEASE spare me.. it's the right thing to do ..And what they aren't showing you here is how much they give other countries that hate us ,,Billions and Billions..When something happens to one of you loved ones maybe THEN you sing a different tune.. Too bad..

First things first, fund border security by getting the border wall done, just like you approved of before Donald Trump became president of the United States.

These bills are just some of the things that NEED to be done...for the protection of our country and its people, our government needs to be up and running. Funny how in certain jobs, the workers are not allowed to strike, for the good of the people but an uncaring, ignoramous (sp?) like DJT can shut down OUR country.

Yes, please try to save the planet instead of building a useless fence that will do nothing but put money into the pockets of construction companies tied to Trump’s extracurricular business affairs.

The upkeep of our national treasures should not be dependent on the partisan whims of the executive branch. Regardless of which side of the aisle initiates a shutdown, it's always the common citizens that are punished most.

The wall failed on the last ballot. The Republicans had control of all three components of the government for two years and the was not important then So it appears to me that this is all sour grapes or fake news Open the government!
