Safe staffing ratios are a must and I am still astonished that they are not in place. When nurses have an overwhelming number of patients, quality of care decreases, fatigue increases, and poor patient outcomes increase. We need to take care of nurses so we are able to care for your loved ones the way we are trained.
Standardized Staffing ratio in health care facilities should be a high priority. Total care Patient not only need to handle safety they need timely assistance for personal care and hygienic. It a damn shame to know that greedy bosses can assigned 40 total care residents to 1 licensed nurse and 1 certify nurses assistance to deliver care per shift. because the government allows it. Then you put a law in place for abuse and neglect, which came down only on the over work care givers.
