house Bill H.R. 2464

Nursing Homes, VA Loans, and Increased Accountability of Senior VA Officials

Argument in favor

When things go wrong at the VA, Congress will know about it quickly. No bonuses for VA managers with unresolved issues. Gives veterans in nursing homes more options.

Giving veterans more options is exactly what we need to provide to these courageous people that sacrificed so much to help sustain our personal freedom in the United States. We need to put more pressure on senior officials of the VA so that they do their job efficiently.

Better option would be to abolish the VA and let vets get their own health care

We need to provide EVERY service veterans need willingly & without debate. OR we must stop sending people for 10 tours to war NOW! Make up your minds! Either pay for the consequences of war or stop the wars!!

Argument opposed

There's more procedure than substance here, and the bill will do little to alleviate systemwide VA dysfunction. Increasing fees on loans to veterans feels inappropriate at this juncture.

Congressional micromanagement will not improve services. Let professionals do their job with adequate funding.

This is garbage. We find the money to send people to war and we owe them quality healthcare
