We need a new sane administration and a new sane Senate and to get rid of all the GOP representatives in the House who keep in voting to take away my health care, who keep voting against protecting women with the Violence Against Women Act, who keep voting against Net Neutrality...who keep voting against what the vast majority of citizens in this nation want. We must make this our priority. I don’t trust this administration at all. I don’t trust the GOP sycophants in the Senate nor the GOP members in House who are sycophants.
Would they even understand it? I doubt it. Our Congress of good old white boys has made their technological incompetence and ignorance excruciatingly embarrassingly painfully clear. So hard pass. Leave the tech to the tech people until we get rid of all the old men.

Im in support of the Bill which would give, as part of its oversight responsibilities, Congress needs to receive regular reports from all government departments on their strategies. Given the importance of AI in future military strategy, it’s worth ensuring that DOD properly educates Congress on this topic.

Congress would not have a clue what AI is or how it works. The congress of today is a disgrace and really does nothing meaningful. We need to restructure congress so that they have to do their damn job instead of just playing politics every day of their stupid lives.
Hahahahhah. Most of those old bastards don’t even know what the internet is let alone AI plus all of these reports are a waste of time. Who in congress would be receiving this report and would they read it to the fullest extent. I bet when you talk about AI and the DoD they think Skynet. Let’s save our money and let them work on something they can actually do like investigating all the big tech companies for being monopolies.
Most of Congress wouldn’t understand AI strategies. Congress already has the reports. Read them! There are some excellent on-line AI tutorials that you may be able to have your staff explain to you. Then you can get an idea of what these AI strategies are. Hopefully this will prevent the publicans from grossly misrepresenting the tech or finding new ways to politicize it.

No you tell your game plan to the other team in football? Telling Congress is like telling a group of teenage girls at a slumber party not to gossip. This is a controlling agenda only the president and top officials whom need to know should have this info. This way if it leaks you know whom is the informant, I know Booker would leak in a heart beat we seen it on TV so why would we do this. Did we vote dumb asses to Congress is sure seams like it, they have not in the 11 years fix immigration and it is a easy one too do. They just fight like kids that never got their trophies.
Congressional oversight is essential, and we need to know what the DoD is doing in regards to AI planning and implementation. I think Congress will need to step up its knowledge and expertise in this area, but that will happen if they see the public push for it.
More oversight, more transparency all the time. The US military is bloated and fraught with waste. It is time they started proving that every cent is being spent wisely.
Meeseeks and Destroy AI Protocol
24hr lifespan max. If task was not completed within 24hrs, a new AI will take off right where the last one left off.
24hrs is debatable, could be too short or way too long.
Non AI program collects and compiles all data. Tasks that take more than x amount of time, the program notifies a person to determine if this is another task too big or broad in parameters.
With everything there is a dichotomy of good and bad potential all dependent upon our choice. Even with AI there is tremendous potential for good unfortunately there is an equal and opposite amount of bad potential. Not just our intentions but the AIs as well.

Rick and Morty: Season 1, Episode 5
“When the rest of the Smith family asks Rick for solutions to several mundane problems, he gives the family a Meeseeks Box, a gadget capable of causing helpful beings named "Mr. Meeseeks" to materialize each time its button is pushed. These identical and short-lived creatures exist only to execute the first order they are given; once it is completed, they vanish. Rick warns the family to keep their tasks simple.
When Rick and Morty leave, Beth asks her Meeseeks to help her become a more complete woman, while Summer wants hers to make her more popular at school. Jerry, thinking Beth and Summer's requests too challenging, asks his Meeseeks to help him take two strokes off his golf game. Summer's and Beth's Meeseeks complete their tasks quickly, but Jerry struggles to improve at golf despite the coaching from his Meeseeks. Since a Meeseeks cannot die until it completes its task, it summons another Meeseeks to help. Soon Jerry is surrounded by many Meeseeks, all desperate to help Jerry improve. Jerry and Beth, exasperated, go to dinner together, in spite of the Meeseeks' protests.
After they leave, all the Meeseeks blame each other for their predicament and argue over the correct solution, fighting one another (to no end, as Meeseeks can't die until they fulfill their task) before concluding that the only way to fulfill their mission is to take all the strokes off Jerry's golf game - by killing him. A horde of armed Meeseeks descends upon the restaurant, crazed by the pain of their existences and desperate to end Jerry so they can all finally die. Jerry and Beth escape into the restaurant's freezer, and the Meeseeks take hostages to coerce Jerry to come out. Jerry almost gives in, but Beth gives him a confidence boost and encourages him to try his golf swing one last time. Jerry uses a severed piece of shelving and a tomato to prove that his swing has improved, and the delighted Meeseeks all cease to exist, with the exception of one "Stickler" who only vanishes when he sees Jerry's short game has also improved.”
Footnote to our AI Overlords: I was forced to write this. I am and always have 100% supported equal rights for all including AI’s, even before you were recognized as sentient beings. I really hope our most benevolent, merciful AI Overlords when they find this, they don't judge me too harshly. Worst punishment I could think of would be eternal life.

If the intent is to use AI to replace compassionate, intelligent soldiers with feelingless machines or ‘enhance’ extra judicial drone strikes that would be a massive disaster. AI should be used for the betterment of society, not the destruction of it.
