Are you serious?! Climate change research is already under attack from every angle, and we want to defund it further for the sake of knowing whether to bring an umbrella to work?? The massive superstorms that climate change will cause can't be researched independently of climate change, without participating in a massive propaganda machine denying the causes of extreme "weather" events.
Weather is short term and variable. Climate is long-term and quite easy to map out possible future changes with enough data of past and present changes. Human-driven climate change should not be censored or disregarded because of current local weather patterns that seem to be antithetical to the idea of global warming or climate change as a whole. We as a species need to own up to the damage we are doing to our planet and find a way to make it livable for future generations. Emphasizing weather over climate would distract people from the climate changes happening currently during our time and prevent action to slow or reverse them before it is too late.
By researching climate change we can see the storms too. Who the heck comes up with this stuff! I live in ohio and it used to be snow fro, November rules march sometimes April! It has snowed twice this year! A great movie on NatGeo channel took 2-3 years to make. Leo decaprio travels the world and what the movie provides is a really scary thing.
