Are you serious?! Climate change research is already under attack from every angle, and we want to defund it further for the sake of knowing whether to bring an umbrella to work?? The massive superstorms that climate change will cause can't be researched independently of climate change, without participating in a massive propaganda machine denying the causes of extreme "weather" events.

Science is real. Scientists need support to continue their research.

Weather is sporadic and has not much to do with climate, though only partly, climate is the constant of the entire planet. Watch cosmos with Neil degrass Tyson he has a perfect analogy for climate change and weather!

Weather predicting doesn't solve the problem, it just provides information on what is already happening

By researching climate change we can see the storms too. Who the heck comes up with this stuff! I live in ohio and it used to be snow fro, November rules march sometimes April! It has snowed twice this year! A great movie on NatGeo channel took 2-3 years to make. Leo decaprio travels the world and what the movie provides is a really scary thing.

This is a short-term outcome to convince us now without consideration of long term effects of removing funding towards climate change research. Deal with the problem at its source, or you'll never remove the beast.

It's much smarter to prevent disaster instead of prevent the damage. While that saves lives, it won't save all of them. If you prevent it overall, there is no damage to be prevented.

Weather is short term and variable. Climate is long-term and quite easy to map out possible future changes with enough data of past and present changes. Human-driven climate change should not be censored or disregarded because of current local weather patterns that seem to be antithetical to the idea of global warming or climate change as a whole. We as a species need to own up to the damage we are doing to our planet and find a way to make it livable for future generations. Emphasizing weather over climate would distract people from the climate changes happening currently during our time and prevent action to slow or reverse them before it is too late.
