Making Election Day a public holiday (or at least a partial one) will show people the importance of voting and raise voter turnout.

There are no excuses for not voting. Early voting, mail in voting, polls are open early and close late. Just do it.

The right to vote is what makes America who she is. At minimum, since we don't have a 24 hour window, but a short amount of time on Election Day to vote, no one should not get to due to work. Even though they "could have voted early," does not negate the more important issue in that, they now want to but cannot due to work needs. And in all honesty, 2 hours of work every 4 years will not completely kill companies. In fact, it would make very little impact on the companies, but much larger impact on voter turn out!

Too many people will abuse this. They will take the time and just go home or do something other than vote.

I believe it should be a national holiday because it is a important part of being Americans. With early voting these days I don’t things it’s necessary as it was in the 60’s,70’s&80’s.
