house Bill H.R. 1917

Delaying Emissions Standards for Brick Manufacturers & New Home Heating Devices

Argument in favor

Emissions rules for clay manufacturers shouldn’t take effect until judicial reviews are complete, and delaying standards for new home heating devices for three years gives those manufacturers more time to adapt.

It's now or never. The environment isn't putting global warming on pause while we get our shit together. In fact, warming is happening at an even FASTER rate than scientists predicted. Prioritizing businesses when our entire future is at stake is NOT acceptible.

More government interference only makes products ridiculously expensive and hard for the common people to afford. We don’t need more regulation.

Global Warming is caused into the due increase of population there is far more carbon emissions through the carbon exchange that occurs in our lungs everyday then these devices and factory polution. Temps are not increasing fast the average temp will go up around 4 degrees in 20 years if we continue at this rate. The human body can only feel 7 degrees. The myth that the world is ending and that we’re ruining the Earth are false. The Earth isn’t going anywhere in the long term and neither are humans.

Argument opposed

Delaying the implementation of an emissions rule for brick manufacturers while a judicial review occurs sets a bad precedent, and courts can already delay such rules. Heating devices manufacturers should’ve already adapted to changes.

The legislative branch should do everything in its power to help the environment. Especially in this republican trifecta.

The United States is already too far behind our self-set goals, as well as the rest of the developed world in terms of acting on climate change. While other nations are doing something about it, our scientifically illiterate government is still tryong to debate its existence. These industries were given a reasonable amount of time in which to comply, but they decided to wait and see if they could win exemption in the courts. This type of behavior must not be rewarded, if the companies have failed to comply by now, they should have to face the entirety of the consequences of their inaction.

Stop trying to end environmental regulations that keep our air clean. If we keep pushing off cleaning up our air, we'll never be able to counteract the effects of Global Warming. Despite what our friends on the right believe, this threat is real, it's not a global conspiracy. Ask the US Navy what they think, for them, it is one of the biggest security risks in the US. Republican leaders are telling you this isn't happening because they get PAID to. Wise up people.

The EPA should be allowed to do its job! The job is to protect our environment! This Administration seems to think that the EPA should do everything it can to undermine our environment and set us back to the 1960’s. Please don’t allow this bill to pass. Vote NO!

The Republicans are going to be as much at fault as Trump on Climate destruction with this bill and others. Seems like no one in charge has an education about how our world runs & how terrible a situation we are in. You’ld think someone would have realized that our weather has begun to show signs that there is a big problem with our climate.

We need to clean the environment and keep it clean, it's our most precious resource, however, we must wait until we have had a judicial review, if not environmental regulations could be imposed on the business that kill the revenue of the business, driving up costs, and do little to nothing! We must wait to find out the truth. We invaded Iraq before we knew what we were doing, let's not let environmental regulations be imposed on private companies before we know what we're doing, remember Iraq, we should have waited. Now we have to continue to wait.
