Should ‘Dreamers’ be Protected From Deportation if They Lose Their Status Because of Executive Action?

Argument in favor

‘Dreamers’ should be able to go about their lives in America without fear of deportation because the president or his administration chooses to end DACA.

Screw Donald Trump's racist executive orders. In Massachusetts we welcome everyone. Immigrants make our nation stronger.

They, along with other non-offending undocumented immigrants should be left alone. Path to citizenship along with ability to pay taxes is needed. We are a nation of immigrants, it is time we remember that.

Argument opposed

If the deferred action program comes to an end the federal government should use resources to deport ‘Dreamers’ who try to remain in the country illegally.

I don't understand what people don't understand about the word "illegal". You can call them dreamers or whatever name you want but illegal immigrants are just that, illegal. There's nothing wrong, racist, or any other word you want to throw around about enforcing the immigration laws of the country. If you're illegal you are subject to deportation, end of story.

The law is the law. If you are here illegal you are breaking the law. Any other country would throw you in jail.

Whatever your thoughts about people who choose to come to this country illegally, surely you can agree that a child who had no choice in that relocation shouldn't have to suffer later for their parents' choices. To deport people brought here as children feels utterly un-American to me.

I am an educator. And I have students that have goals of going to college and receiving higher education. And these children are the "illegals" you are talking about. They came here when they were 2 or 3 years old. The time when all they can do is follow what their parents say. They have identified themselves as undocumented in order to fully participate in the very things that the opposition says that they are avoiding. These individuals pay taxes, go to work and go to school. They do NOT get the same rights as we do, but they have put themselves in harms way in order to come close. To try to abide by the laws that we have in place. If they have made this effort, why should we deport them if they are assimilating and following the law?

I hope this group of morons understands the economic impact of deportation. Last year our local mushroom crop experienced a 10% loss due to a lack of able workers... to the tune of 250 million dollars.

Yes they should, they were promised an opportunity for sanctuary many of them were and are escaping violence. They're here contributing to the economy, working hard to get through school and giving back to this country in many amazing and positive ways.

Many dreamers came forward in good faith because of the dreamers program. Besides being the moral thing to do, it would damage the government's credibility to go after these people now.

"Dreamers" and all other illegal aliens should be deported! Not just "the criminals"! WHY?! Because the very act of entering the U.S.A. illegally makes them all criminals! If they were brought here as children, they AND their parents should be deported! They need to learn to respect our national sovereignty and our laws! They shouldn't be coddled and protected from the consequences of their parents' actions. I'm totally against a "pathway to citizenship," i.e., amnesty! It's not good policy to reward anyone who enters our country ILLEGALLY! It sends the wrong message, and it's an insult to all those immigrants who have come here LEGALLY! I'm fed up with their competing with AMERICAN CITIZENS for jobs, and I'm fed up with the gangs and other criminals who are preying on AMERICAN CITIZENS! And this is NOT racism, xenophobia, or isolationism! It doesn't matter to me WHAT race they are! I have nothing against Latinos (or any other ethnic group) who respect our national sovereignty and our laws and who want to be assimilated into our culture! I believe President Trump feels the same way. A nation without borders and laws is not a nation by any stretch of the imagination! We are a nation of laws! You frickin' liberals who merely pay the laws lip service when they don't suit your agenda or narrative can go take a flying leap off a cliff or tall building (I mean this FIGURATIVELY!). Your sanctuary cities, states, universities, and colleges are breaking the law, and I hope President Trump takes away every last cent of federal funding from all of you! That's what you deserve for being lawbreakers like the illegal aliens you're protecting. I'M AGAINST OPEN BORDERS AND THE NORTH AMERICAN UNION or whatever the globalists want to create to destroy our identity as a sovereign nation! I'M AGAINST THEIR SO-CALLED NEW WORLD ORDER, which would put a small elitist group in power, leaving the rest of humanity as their slaves. It's communism, and we should fight against it 'til our last breath! Those elitists consider the rest of us as nothing more than a necessary evil. And you can bet your boots that they would use any means they deemed necessary to control the population and weed out those they considered inferior and unproductive. “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice LAWLESSNESS!’” (Matthew‬ ‭7:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬) “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is LAWLESSNESS.” (‭‭I John‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭NKJV) “I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.” (Romans‬ ‭6:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬) “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”” ‭‭(Acts‬ ‭17:30-31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬) #ProtectOurBorders #BuildTheWall #NoAmnesty #EndChainMigration #EndBirthrightCitizenship
