house Bill H.R. 1404

Should Vladimir Putin’s Net Worth Be Investigated by the U.S. Gov’t?

Argument in favor

An accurate accounting of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s net worth, along with its sources, would go a long way towards fighting global corruption and improving U.S. national security through an improved understanding of how Putin uses money to stay in power.

Putin is reportedly worth $200 billion. That kind of wealth is literally capable of running the world. (Especially since no one is monitoring on how that money is spent.) He is buying and selling politicians and governments worldwide. Wreaking havoc every step of the way. For the sanctity of America, anything that can stem the damage -- and lead to uncovering him for the nemesis that he is (he has vowed to destroy the U.S. for decades) -- is worth the effort.

Knowing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s net worth, along with its sources, and expenditures would help in fighting global corruption and improving U.S. National Security , as well as, uncover Americans who either took payments or laundered money for Putin. That would lead to charges & hopefully jail for those treasonous people.

Argument opposed

Singling Putin out will only antagonize the Kremlin, straining an already frosty U.S.-Russia relationship. It’d also be incredibly difficult — if not impossible — to get an accurate picture of Putin’s finances, given the layers of proxy owners and shell corporations to work through.

Why? Can we audit him? He was in the panama papers. I’m pretty sure he hides his money. We aren’t the worlds police. I thought this was actually a joke. We can’t get our own presidents tax returns but we want to audit the most powerful man in the world. Got it.

I think the USA needs to stop focusing so much on everyone else, and focus more on their own internal corruption and problems.

We already know he is corrupt but it’s not our responsibility to investigate him. We only cause more trouble for ourselves when we interfere in the affairs of other countries.

Why? Seriously, what good will this number do us? How would we even get a accurate number? Will it change anything about how the USA/Russia relations work? No? Then why?

Leave Putin to the Russians. The connection between the puppeteer and the puppet will be found by investigating #45’s money, both past and present. The U.S. should first investigate #45, his family and more importantly, all the business ventures, (active and failed), that bear his name. Answers regarding #45’s corruptness, greed and thievery will be answered if investigators follow his money trail. Key to the investigation will be #45’s Income Tax reports for at least the last (10) yrs. Investigating #45’s money will shed light on the TRUTH regarding lies, bribes, pay-offs and other illegal actions.

With power comes responsibility. Those responsibilities are to the people you serve. Transparency is part of that equation.

H.R. 1404 AKA- To strengthen the United States response to Russian interference by providing transparency on the corruption of Russian President Vladimir Putin. I can’t recommend the passage of the House bill H.R.1404 which was sponsored by Rep. Demings, Val Butler [D-FL-10] (Introduced 02/27/2019)and like her mentor (Speaker Pelosi)apparently won’t let us know what is in the bill until its passed. I may be a conspiracy theorist who, believes that our Democratic members of Congress, particularly the U.S. House following their regaining control of the HOUSE. It’s beginning to be apparent that they, the opposition Progressive Liberal Socialist Leaning Democrats are going to lean towards their Investigation agendas rather than legislating as their constituents elected them to do. So until I see what’s in the bill, I’d be suspicious 😒 of its contents and if, as I’d suspect, there is going to be another attempt at attacking President Trump by the Pelosi led House. SneakyPete......... 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻. 3*10*19..........

Considering his interest in elections around the world and recent military build up in the region, i fully believe we should be looking into Putin’s wealth and his current interests. If the US has been a party to hiding any of Putin’s money the American people need to know. We need to send a strong signal there are consequences to meddling in elections and military aggression while stealing a counties wealth for ones own enrichment.

Donald Trump and his net worth should be investigated. Trump is the epitome of corruption. That’s plain as day. It’s just that some just don’t care. Shame on you congress. We will all have to pay the consequences of this disaster in the White House.
