house Bill H.R. 1201

Should the Executive Branch Develop a National Security Strategy for Climate Change?

Argument in favor

Climate change is a tremendously important issue, and it’s important for all parts of the federal government to keep it in mind as develop national security doctrine, policies, and plans. By establishing an interagency working group on this topic, this bill ensures that federal government agencies will coordinate their efforts.

I support this legislation. I also feel that if you take “Climate Change” out of this, it still provides a benefit to all Citizens, Corporations and the Planet, by reducing environmental toxins and pollution. Who could deny removing pollution from our air, water and soils, especially after we see what is happening in Lake Okeechobee, the Red Tide and Brown Tide in Gulf Coasts and Treasure Coasts and Indian River Lagoon if Florida, the Blue Algae of Lake Erie, and the fact that Corporations are being given free-reign to pollute, because they are “Grand-Fathered” in, because their families have owned these farms for 150 years and have been dumping these toxins on the land for that long and they should be allowed to do it to. We taxpayers are paying for clean-up, for them to make profits, while we cannot drink the water, eat the fish, and we have to close the doors on our small businesses during algae blooms.

Argument opposed

President Trump’s decision to rescind President Obama’s memorandum on climate change was a reasonable one. It’s not necessary to specifically direct federal agencies to take climate change into consideration as they develop national security doctrine, policies, and plans, because taking the global context — including the climate — into consideration in these decisions is already a given.

H.R. 1201 AKA “the Climate Change National Security Strategy Act” “The SKY’ FALLING” Syndrome in Play Again. I’m in extremely & adamant opposition to the Lynch House H.R. Bill 1201 AKA the Climate Change National Security Strategy Act of 2019 — would restore the core directives on national security and climate change that were included in a September 2016 memorandum from the Obama administration, which President Trump rescinded in March 2017. It’s not necessary to specifically direct federal agencies to take climate change into consideration as they develop national security doctrine, policies, and plans, because taking the global context — including the climate — into consideration in these decisions is already a given. It’s sadly😔 very apparent that the “Climate Change Issue” is nothing more than another of the Democrats “Bag of Tricks” to brainwash voters, to muddle along with the Environmental Consortium, the Climate Change discussion in their favor. Why did obama wait until the last hour of his presidency to issue this memorandum? Because he didn’t believe in the climate change hype either.

The Navy says that climate change is the biggest threat to national security that there is. As long as Republicans are in charge they will also be a threat to our national security if they don’t do anything about climate change.

Of course our government should have a policy on climate change. It should have policies about lots and lots of things. Unfortunately, the chief executive is functionally illiterate and spends all his time tweeting nonsense, so it’s unlikely there will be any policies which aren’t proposed by actual Nazis like Stephen Miller any time soon.
