house Bill H. Joint Res. 37

Should U.S. Forces Helping the Saudi Coalition Against Iran-Backed Rebels in Yemen be Withdrawn?

Argument in favor

Congress never authorized the participation of U.S. military forces in the conflict in Yemen between the Saudi coalition and the Iran-backed Houthi rebels. Those troops should be withdrawn.

The Saudi's have been behind so many atrocities, I simply don't believe they are on the right side of history. We shouldn't be helping their regime and we certainly shouldn't be selling them any weapons or giving their military support.

What the Saudis have been doing in Yemen is a travesty and a debacle. We need to stop supporting their insanity.

Argument opposed

The U.S. has a clear national interest in helping the Saudi coalition defeat the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. Requiring the removal of the troops providing that assistance is ill-advised.

No! And I you put this question out already! We cannot afford to allow Iran to gain control in the Middle East! Period!

17 of the 19 terrorist who flew planes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon were Saudis. They are not America’s allies. They are more of Trump’s crioked friends.

Stop spending my hard-earned taxes on corporate welfare/military industrial complex aiding a corrupt and immoral Saudi regime. End ALL wars - bring our troops home so we can have Medicare for All and free college!

WHY IS AMERICA HELPING THAT MURDEROUS DESPOT? I'M SURE THEY HACE MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY TO TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES CONSIDERING THEY SUCK ALL THE MONEY OUT OF THE COUNTRY ALL THE WHILE THEIR PEOPLE ARE PROBABLY LIVING IN POVERTY AND JUST LIKE TRUMP WANTS TO DO HERE, THERE IS "NO FREEDOM OF THE PRESS" THERE SO WE CAN ONLY GUESS. BUT CONSIDERING FIVE MILLION CHILDREN AMERICAN CHILDREN GO HUNGRY IN AMERICA ON A DAILY BASIS I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT HAPPENS IN THAT COUNTRY. NO MORE HELPING ANY COUNTRY KILL PEOPLE WITH AMERICAN TROOPS WHERE THE OUTCOME WON'T AFFECT AMERICA IN ANY WAY. WHAT A SHIT SHOW AMERICA HAS BECOME UNDER THE ORANGE IDIOT TRYING TO BE A DICTATOR IN "OUR COUNTRY" THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN HERE. TRUMP YOU ARE GOING DOWN AS THE LYING, TRAITOROUS, SCUMBAG, PIG THAT YOU ARE

The Yemeni are suffering because of their war against the Saudis. We must stop backing MBS especially after he murdered Kashoggi. No more weapons to the Saudis!

This is an unconscieable position, Rep Crawford. Why are we giving aid to Saudi Arabia while they continue to commit genocide on innocent people in Yemen.

What amazes me are the comments made by people, they are concerned about the welfare of people in other countries, people who are invading and killing people in countries they do not belong in trying to dominate them. But when it comes to the United States of America, I don’t hear that you’re not worried about securing our borders, caravan after caravan of people forcing their way into our country, costing us a fortune. But you don’t care what we spent to help other countries. That doesn’t make sense to me. I believing helping other countries . But I believe in my country to we need to be protected at our borders and we are being denied that. I have heard the men who work on the borders and they say what they need. But we are limited in money so they can’t have what they need but you can find trillions of dollars to protect other people in other countries just not in America. I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or Republican it doesn’t matter our country matters American citizens matter. We have a right to feel safe too.

There have been so many horror stories of starving babies and dead children in this merciless war that the dictatorial regime in Saudi Arabia has been causing that my sympathies are totally with the poor, suffering people of Yemen who have been savagely treated by this tyrant of a Crown Prince who had murdered one of the Washington Post reporters and treats when in his country as little more than cattle, all the while spending huge amounts of money on himself while his people are impoverished and hungry! This is a subversive totalitarian government, but then Trump and the republicans just love tyrannical totalitarian dictators who live in luxury while their people suffer--they enjoy doing the same!

We must not continue to be party to the senseless slaughter of innocent people. We must instead introduce a present-day "Marshall Help" to the Yemenites, so their country can be rebuilt and their culture can be restored. That is what the United States should be all about, peace and absolutely no war.

There should be a immediate stop to weapons being sold to Saudi Arabia and we should no longer support their efforts unless they admit to their role in 9/11 and stop aiding terrorists.
