house Bill H. Joint Res. 30

Blocking Sanctions Relief for Companies Linked to a Russian Oligarch

Argument in favor

This bill would wisely reverse the Trump administration’s flawed decision to offer sanctions relief to three companies connected to a Russian oligarch named Oleg Deripaska, who is linked to Paul Manafort and is under investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Letting Trump relax sanctions shows the true character of republicans. While Americans go without paychecks, many still forced to work, they bailout Russian companies. maga my ass.

There should be no relief of Russian sanctions as long as they remain a hostile foreign power.

Argument opposed

The Treasury Department’s decision to lift sanctions on the three companies connected to Oleg Deripaska didn’t change the fact that he is personally sanctioned and will continue to be. This bill is an attempt to show non-existent impropriety.

It’s high time America stopped blaming Russia for its own problems. Russia didn’t elect a president with 3 million fewer popular votes, America did. If Russia influenced the election, they did a piss poor job of it. Did Trump try to rig the election? Without a doubt. And we KNOW Hillary did. Washington corruption is positively astounding. Not surprisingly they try point the finger away from the guilty.

Trump would ease sanctions on Russian business and oligarchs, and that shows Americans that Putin is indeed pulling the strings on the orange headed puppet. We are supposed to have a representative democracy not an autocracy. All of our representatives and senators need to evaluate whether they are so partisan that they would help topple our democracy or uphold our rule of law, mores and democratic norms.

Clearly, as more comes to light - the Trump administration is at the whims of the Russian government. Not 1 but 4 people involved with the trump campaigns have been PROVEN to be working with the Russian government. If you refuse to even acknowledge these simple facts - you are delusional.

It is a travesty that the president and the republicans have betrayed the United States of America. I wonder how much Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter are being paid by Russia. Someone please investigate Mitch. Open our government.

There is no reason to loosen sanctions on Russia. While Trump has seemed to convince a lot of Americans that Russia had nothing to do with getting Trump elected, the US intelligence agencies say different. There also seem to be a lot of Russian bots on here trying to state opinions to the contrary.

It would be helpful to us if this app tell us who voted for bills and who did not. I agree with every vote my representatives have voted on. However I would like to know who in our government would like to lift sanctions on Russia. How dangerous is it to lift sanctions on a man how has ties to Putin and who gets his money from Putin. What message are we sending?

ABSOLUTELY NO RELIEF to sanctions...this is ludicrous! Constantly hearing how harsh current administration is to Russia but I think only when forced to! He constantly kowtows to Putin it is unbelievable and if others did it they would be condemned by both parties with traitorous action comments but Republicans seem to bend to current President wishes - RIDICULOUS!
