house Bill H. Con. Res. 24

Should the Mueller Report Be Publicly Released to the Greatest Extent Possible?

Argument in favor

After nearly two years of Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation into alleged collusion between the Russian government and Trump campaign and potential obstruction of justice, the American public deserves to know what the probe found and why charges were or were not pursued. Congress should formally call for the report to made public to the greatest extent possible.

We need to know what has happened. Period. Only an informed electorate can properly vote on their representatives.

YES! The report should be released to the greatest extent possible. Tax payers need to know. Full disclosure of all his findings is what needs to happen. It has been a very thorough investigation and the guilty need to be exposed.

Argument opposed

The American public will eventually find out what Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation has uncovered, and that will be the case whether or not this bill is passed because it’s a non-binding resolution. If lawmakers seriously want to change how the findings of special counsel investigations are made public they should pass a bill to that effect.

👎🏻👎🏻H. Con. Res. 24- Expressing the sense of Congress that the report of Special Counsel Mueller should be made available to the public and to Congress.👎🏻👎🏻 This is nothing more than theCongressional Democrats wanting To “Have their Cake and Eat It” to have it on their evil dealing terms. This resolution would express the sense of Congress that the report Special Counsel Robert Mueller provides to the Dept. of Justice (DOJ) should be provided in full to Congress. It’d also call for the report to made public to the greatest extent possible except for portions prohibited by law. Under current law, the special counsel is required to submit a classified report to the DOJ explaining decisions in favor of or declining prosecution of any charges but isn’t required to disclose the report to other parties — which is up to the discretion of the attorney general. This House Resolution is nothing more than another Democratic attempts to follow the Party’s ongoing agenda in the hindering of President Trumps attempts to secure the nations border against the influx of not only illegal migrants, but also drugs, which are detrimental to,the well being of the American people. SneakyPete......... 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻. 3*10*19..........

I want it released. I love transparency but Mueller himself said if this happens it will show our enemies the extent of our surveillance abilities. As much as I am jealous to read it.. I think it should be for Congress (all member with a security clearance level that meets the level he places on the document)

We already know there was no collusion. That was the point of the stupid investigation to begin with. I could have told them that and saved the taxpayers 25 million dollars and 2 yrs of aggravation to our President and to us.

Absolutely I have a right as an American citizen to know what happens in my government so I can elect leaders who don’t do underhanded things.

Robert Mueller’s complete report needs to be accessible to all the American people. With the exception of redacted classified information that would jeopardize our county’s national security. This will promote the transparency that the American people deserve.

One of this president’s first actions was to obstruct justice in an investigation to determine if he engaged in a criminal conspiracy to win the election. I think we the people need to know the facts.

I believe that the Meuller report should be available to the American people. I don’t see why it shouldn’t be. As an American I believe we have a right to know what they uncovered and what their conclusions are.

Democracy depends on the trust of the people, and that depends on transparency without exposing national security even if it is an embarrassment to the nation. Anything short of that is not the democratic ideal that we’ve espoused as a nation since the beginning. The rule of law comes first and no one is above the law... otherwise government office becomes a goal for criminals to allow them to get away with their crimes.

People are suspicious when reports are not made public, especially when it concerns our elected officials and elections. We expect transparency in our officials, and releasing this report is part of that process. We should not be seen as trying to hide something. That’s what a dictator does, not a democracy.

The possible painful truth in the short run will straighten our democracy and world reputation in the end. Nixon’s resignation made us a better, and more respect nation for dealing with the truth and fixing what was needed.

This is the people's business, and when it comes down to it, we are paying for it. Not only that, we will be affected by what it contains. YES, we should have access to all of it, except what is prohibited by law!

Is that a sneaky way to circumvent to require full disclosure of ALL Mueller's analysis. If so, I am opposed to a wimpy bill. Better: require full disclosure of Mueller's analysis. Most of Americans want that!

The public has a right to know the results of this investigation. In the end pieces of it will leak which will lead to assumptions and misinformation. Releasing this report will combat that.
