Expressing the sense of Congress that a carbon tax would be detrimental to the United States economy.
Express the sense of Congress that a carbon tax would be detrimental to American families and businesses and is not in the best interest of the United States.
1) A carbon tax would *not* be detrimental to the United States economy. Eleven teams in a recent Stanford Energy Modeling Forum (EMF) project consistently came to the conclusion that it would not. 2) Unchecked global warming *would* have a serious detrimental effect on the United States economy, from agriculture to increases in the severity of natural disasters like hurricanes and wildfires, to the effects of rising sea levels. A carbon tax is a *good* thing.
