What's Congress Voting On? Week of November 28, 2016

Week of November 28, 2016
Congress returns from its Thanksgiving break this week to resume its lame duck session that concludes December 16. The House and Senate will both begin their weeks on Tuesday and are expected to remain in session through the rest of the week.

The House will consider a number of bills related to veterans affairs, in addition to weighing in on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and overtime pay for Secret Service agents. There are also two big ticket pieces of legislation that may get votes before the end of the week — the 21st Century Cures Act (after the Senate takes it up) and the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2017.
