Look up for a minute. Remember where you are right now. We will be talking about this moment in American history for the rest of our lives. The violence in Charlottesville -- and our leaders’ reactions to it -- mark a pivotal point in our nation’s timeline.
This conversation is not new. At the inception of the American Republic, vast swaths of our citizenry had none of the “inalienable rights” celebrated in our Declaration of Independence. But with time, thought and above all else, conversation, we Americans have consistently widened our democracy, and broadened our understanding of the rights of all people.
This is why Countable stands for The Conversation.
We believe there is great power in inclusive conversation. We believe terrible wrongs can be righted by the strengthening of community; what Abraham Lincoln called our “bonds of affection.” And we abhor the language and actions of any group -- be it islamist jihadists or white supremacists -- whose ideology and actions promote the destruction of our increasingly inclusive democracy.
We are deeply thankful that you too stand with us.

Our latest release, Countable 4.1, makes it easier than ever to engage your friends -- and your frenemies -- in real conversation. And hey, that’s gold.

Countable, thank you for giving us an absolutely wonderful way to have open conversations. Countable helps me learn, see two sides, and gives me a chance to speak. Thank you.
Political engagement is made more accessible by Countable for an entire generation of people who have taken a greater interest because of the things going on right now. Hopefully now, people will no longer not care. Your missive says to look up and remember where we are at this very moment. I did, and I also remembered where I was the moment I vowed never to stop caring again. It was 4am on November 9th, 2016, and I was in bed reading the headline "Donald Trump elected President."
Spot on. Coercion, name calling/dismissal, and violence has never and will never change the tide. Only the open marketplace of ideas, coupled with patience, has a track record of seeing us through poor ideology, ignorance, dogma, and evil in all forms. Thanks Countable for streamlining this great facet and tool of a free society.
Hey look. Now Countable has done a better job of calling out white supremacy than the president too. Good on you guys.
United we stand, & divided we fall... Thank you Countable team for making this available. Both information uncolored by bias and a means to discuss it. The conversation must begin or we will destroy ourselves and end this grand experiment...
This has been an ongoing battle that I've been standing in for some time. I am "that person" at work. The word "liberal" is hissed when I speak up for what I feel is right. It's tiring but I cannot help but think - would I be fighting this hard if I started earlier? Am I too late? I should have joined my brothers and sisters of different races and creeds a long time ago. I sympathized but I did not mobilize. Now here we are scrambling to save what decency we have left in this country - POC have been screaming of these issues long before this, they need the microphone. We need to listen and get active. It is not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist!
Thank you for this app! A great tool for communication with each other and elected officials.
Ok Countable that's good as you mentioned White Supremists and Jihadists! You left out Left wing communist groups though! I want to see you renounce them as well!
Thank you, Countable, for giving voice to the American people. We are grateful to you for making an informed space for the conversation.
Reading other's comments often renews my faith in the people's determination to thoughtfully engage. We are not all ignorant and selfish and lazy👍🤞🏼🙏🏻❤️
Countable, you given voice too many of us whom I'm sure rarely communicated on the important topics of our lives with each other, let alone with our elected representatives. You have also stimulated me to be much more proactive in calling my reps to let them know what at least this 80 year old thinks! Thank you to you, and to all who share their views.
I really liked the concept of countable and find it useful. But am further reminded about brain dead lefties that can't muster any inspiring thought other than "trump is hitler". So sad
Thank you for giving me a platform upon which a conversation can begin. Plus I am learning so much about what the government is actually doing. So thank you
This platform is the ultimate tool against rampant ignorance. The American people need Countable as a tool to facilitate dialogue and stay informed, thank you for transforming the experience that is political discourse!
I am thrilled to be able to practice articulating my opinions on different issues. Sometimes I just don't know how I feel. Reading other's opinions helps me form mine as they may have a perspective I hadn't considered. Thanks for this forum. I'm spreading the word
I am glad for an option to speak out on topics that impact our nation. There is no place for the KKK or nazi in our country. This breaks my heart to see this front and center again. Speak out about hate of others.
One nation must come together to rid ourselves of a tyrannical leader. "One nation under God indivisible for liberty and justice for all." If we have to march on Washington we will do it to get you to understand that We The People want our democracy back.#OccupyWashington with us now. This isn't the time for cowardice! Americans need you to stand with us as we fight for liberty and justice for all. Thank you for all you've done and thank you for all you for all you will do!
Thank you for the forum to learn, be informed and contribute.
Countable has been both exceptionally informative and an excellent source of conversation/perspective.
Thank you for having the conversation.
