Congress is about to vote on a new farm bill – a massive piece of legislation that has a big impact on our food, air and water. But the proposed bill may do more more to protect Big Ag’s bottom line than our health or the environment.
Click above to tell Congress the American people are demanding a farm bill that focuses on our health and our environment, NOT Big Ag’s bottom line!
This is dangerous.
The chemical industry is about to undo more than 150 restrictions on the use of hazardous pesticides on parks and playgrounds in one fell swoop.
Big Ag’s buddies in Congress have snuck in a dangerous provision to this year’s farm bill, a must-pass piece of legislation that oversees the country’s food system. This provision would preempt local governments from adopting their own pesticide regulations.
It would strip away local bans on Monsanto’s cancer-causing glyphosate.
Congress thinks that Big Ag should determine what chemicals are safe to spray on your parks and playgrounds. Ridiculous!
In my 20 years as a consumer advocate I’ve seen the power of community activism time and time again. But if this bill passes, that power will be stripped away for good!
We have a right to protect our communities and our health. Your representative needs to hear from you right now if we’re going to stop this bill.
Local communities are the back bone of American democracy and activism. Stripping away city and county governments ability to protect our kids from dangerous pesticides is a serious threat and we have to do everything we can to stop Big Ag’s latest attack on our health.
If we don’t win this fight, community activists will be in serious trouble. We can’t let that happen.
Please join me right now and tell your representative to stand up for your community. We have a right to protect ourselves from pesticides!
Thanks for your support.
