Senate Moves Forward on Healthcare, House to Vote on "Minibus"
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
It’s going to be a busy day in Congress, here’s what you need to keep track of:
The House will debate amendments and vote on passage of a "minibus" spending package that provides funding for defense, veterans, energy & water, and the legislative branch. Debate will start at 12pm, votes will begin after 1:30pm, and final votes will occur before 10pm (all times Eastern).
The Senate will continue to debate and vote on amendments to the Republican healthcare plan. The first amendment scheduled to get a vote is a carbon copy of the Medicare For All Act introduced in the House by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) after 2:15pm today that would create a single-payer healthcare system. Votes on other amendments, including a possible "skinny repeal" of Obamacare, are likely to occur and you can keep track of them here.
