Good morning, CountaBeasts!
Amidst protests in Hamburg of the G20, President Trump will finally have the private meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin that has been garnering so much attention. Don’t expect to know much about the fall-out immediately, though you can expect the press to hang on every word and detail afterwards in the hopes that the president will spill something.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, as they say, Congressional Republicans continue to confront health care, or at least the concerns about health care among their constituents in their home districts. Summer just isn’t as fun as an adult, is it?
Keep participating, CountaBeasts! You are the soul of democracy.

So he gets to thank him in person, how sweet.
We don't know whether Putin placed #45 in office yet, but an ignorant, selfish buffoon might be a logical rational choice to be called "leader" of the US from a Russian perspective. They seem to share the same values of dictatorship enforced with violence, personal wealth at the expense of country, and personal power as the central core concern, along with scapegoating minorities hoping they are helpless to fight back as is the way of bullies. Is this the end of our republic? Or do I mistake unnecessary deaths of unwealthy citizens [documented or not] as destruction of our country?
And now our democracy ends
Astounding that Trump did not demand Putin stop interfering in our elections. All four intelligence agencies confirm it was Russia, however our president still is not and takes Putin at his word?!? This was the chance to look like a strong leader, stand up for our democracy, and the free world. I think he failed miserably.
The Russian government is no friend of democracy or human rights and they quite clearly tried to undermine our electoral process. I do not trust the President to represent our best interest with President Putin. I don't think most of our friends and allies trust him either
Trump will not admit that Russia interfered in our election. Because he believes it will delegitimize him. We haven't seen Trump Taxes therefore we do not know what businesses he's had with Russia although Trumps sons has said differently. Putin now knows that this President believes that his own intelligence agencies do not know what there going. Putin is laughing out loud. Congress must pass this bill to impose more sanctions. This President should be representing the USA & our democracy not his own self interest!
It is disgraceful and treasonous the way Trump fawned over Putin. The congress needs to put stricter sanctions immediately on Russia. They also need to push hard for completion of investigations. Russia will continue to hack and our President is stupid enough to think they are our "friend ".
I don't like Trump, but I dislike your slanted representation of what's going on even more. This app used to be about informing us about what the government is doing, and providing us with the knowledge we need to make educated decisions on who we're looking to elect. Now it's just about putting your misinformed opinions at the forefront, and manipulating the narrative to suit your own version of reality. This app is becoming more and more disgustingly party oriented, while principles and information have quickly become unneeded in your view.
That's a great video of the protesters. None of them can even articulate what they are protesting. And I have to wonder, why aren't they at work?
No doubt about it-we got rolled. The President was not up to the challenge and so he gave his banker everything he wanted. Worse, it appears that the President kept his Russia advisor and his National Security Advistor out of the room. As your constituent I must insist that you protect the United States of America, its people and its values. This should include Congress taking over the Russian sanctions even if that requires a veto override. I deeply fear that we will not be able to count on the President to carry out his Constitutional duties.
How reassuring. The President of the United States groveling at the feet of Putin, wallowing in gratitude for his help in stealing the election for the purpose of stealing the rest of America for himself and his billionaire friends. Utter disgrace.
Does the G20 discuss how to lift non-G20 countries from poverty? And, I am very angry at Trump for skipping a session on Energy to meet with Putin! Not only because Putin is a snake, but it makes me ashamed for my country!
The only people that will know what actually was said is the 3 that were there. Tillerson, Putin and Trump all have a connection. Anything we hear of that meeting will be lies. Just watching the news Trump never approached Putin like President Obama did . Eye tot eye telling Putin to stop and there will be sanctions. Trump's behavior was friendly .
How long did he last before climax?
So far nothing productive has come from any meeting/s that 45 or Jared or Rex have had with any country and so I doubt 45 will confront Russia about election meddling, something 45 has alleged is fake news. It is so sad to live in a time where our president and congress do not represent the majority of Americans. The majority of Americans want their vote to count, want affordable quality health coverage, want an America with. air and water that is not poisoned, want their kids to have a quality education that provides core competencies, want jobs, and want national parks and monuments that are not mined and drilled in. Those very things that have made America great are being stripped away by this administration. Please stand up and represent us congress!
Trump meets with Russia: it is official we are Russia's bitch.
What an embarrassment - your GOP standard bearer. Voters will not forget how you enabled the current holder of the office of president to disrespect our constitution.
Wonder how much national security was compromised in yet another meeting with the Russians behind closed doors?
Trump's coddling of Putin and his going it alone against the rest of the world is a disgrace. How far we have fallen as a country since the inauguration is truly remarkable and dangerous
