Good morning, CountaBabes!
The horse trading and backroom dealing continues as Congress races towards the July 4th recess. Word on the street is that a new version of the Senate healthcare bill will head to the CBO by week’s end.
President Trump is still President Trump, which is a good or bad thing depending on your perspective.
This afternoon President Trump will offer remarks at the Department of Energy as part of the Unleashing American Energy event.
In the evening the president and First Lady will welcome President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea. There will be a reception with the South Korean delegation, followed by a dinner.
Voting on a bill to cut federal law enforcement grant funding to sanctuary jurisdictions and ensure that unauthorized immigrants convicted of drunk driving or charged with violent crimes aren’t released on bond while they wait for deportation proceedings.
Voting on a bill to enhance sentences for unauthorized immigrants who repeatedly enter the country, with sentences increasing based on the severity of their criminal history.
President Trump will offer remarks at the Unleashing American Energy event at 3:15 PM EDT. Watch him here.
The House Natural Resources Subcommittee will hold a hearing on oil and gas development on federal lands at 10 AM EDT. Watch it here.
The president clearly didn’t get the memo about the congressional civility pledge that is circulating. He decided to go after Mika Brzezinski on Twitter this morning is a particularly personal attack.
Be civil, CountaBuddies! Someone should be.
"Aspire to decency. Practice civility toward one another. Admire and emulate ethical behavior wherever you find it. Apply a rigid standard of morality to your lives; and if, periodically, you fail, as you surely will, adjust your lives, not the standards."— Ted Koppel

While McConnell dithers over support for his healthcare bill, please use some sense. This is not a viable alternative to the Affordable Care Act. Thousands of Arizonans alone will lose their healthcare. Rural hospitals and medical services will be gutted. Cutting maternity care? What shriveled idiot does that? Listen to your constituents and block healthcare reform that will literally kill people.
Vote no on Healthcare bill. ACA is fine and works well in many states. Fix what doesn't work in your state. It is your job to represent the people not your party. Do your job for the people. We need our most vulnerable citizens taken care of. Do not disrupt Medicaid. We need it!
Please do not sell off human lives by passing a health care bill that cuts 22 million people off. Please do not make seniors pay 5 x's more instead of current limit of 3 x's more. Please do not allow states to redefine essential benefits. Please do not kick 15 million off Medicaid. There is nothing about this bill that favors the average American! It is a reprehensible bill and we need you to fight with everything you have against all of the above limitations. We simply cannot afford to send America back to the dark ages. These GOP reps that vote for this will never be forgotten or forgiven!
Do not rush health care to meet some arbitrary timeline. Instead of cobbling something together act intelligently and responsibly. You have the health and well being of the American people in your hands. That requires thoughtful deliberations, the input of representatives of health care, e.g., doctors, hospitals, clinics, state governments. This is not an easy task. Don't try to make it fast. Do not dump the poor and elderly on a slag pile to benefit the wealthy. Do not dump children on the slag pile for the sake of expediency. SHOW US that you can behave intelligently and responsibly. Your behaviors are more in line with Trump's infantile behaviors. When are you going to censure him? Do you really want to support someone who behaves like a 5th grader? It certainly makes all of you look as bad as he is? and I wonder how you got your job. Nevertheless, Election Day is coming and we will remember.
Between 12 and 27% percent of the people polled are for the senate health bill. This does no constitute a mandate for approval. Who are you representing? Certainly not me or anyone I know. 88% of the people are against it? WHO ARE YOU REPRESENTING? The 2%.
Vote No on Deathcare!
Here's what some of the most influential business people think about healthcare reform. http://money.cnn.com/2017/06/28/news/warren-buffett-single-payer-health-care/index.html?sr=fbCNN062817warren-buffett-single-payer-health-care0820PMVODtopLink&linkId=39206923
The truth is it happens the worst part of it is The American tax payer and the poor are hit with the damage that it does. And the rich seem to always win in the end.
I say keep your personal opinions to yourself. Stop putting it in these articles.
Isn't expressing my/his/your opinion the whole point? Different opinions should strengthen debate not poison it.
Leave healthcare alone, quit with the deals, and shut down our borders now.
If no money will be receive from the federal government, no money from taxes the government will receive. Easy.
Set egos and PARTIES aside. Design healthcare like you have to use it and pay for it, for you and your family.
