Past due!! Our vets don't need our support....they earned it! We owe them our freedom and our lives.

It's time to fully fund the VA. Also, add a provision to the next defense spending bill to prefund the care of Veterans as a cost of military activity. There things that veterans need that only the VA can provide.

Secretary Robert McDonald has done a great job with the VA. I am a third generation Veteran and I can tell you from experience that things are a lot better for me than my dad who was Vietnam vet. But, there is always room for employment.

I have 2 uncles who use the VA and are very pleased with their medical care. Fix where it’s needed. Not the global perception that the whole system is bad. Fire those who are failing in their care or supervision. My daughter works with a brutal, lazy supervisor in a dialysis unit and there is no accountability. Hire more if there are shortages. This is a management issue.

It's far past time to fix the VA. It needs to be completely gutted and start from scratch. In the interim our veterans should be permitted to seek healthcare from civilian healthcare providers of the veterans' choosing.

This can only be fixed when those who engage our military from the beginning to adequately advance funds to last forty years after the engagements. This will cover war funds for the engagement and the funds for all health care afterwards. It is easy for congress or the president to call for action by our military but it is another thing to care for the veterans for up to forty years after the war. First step is what are you going to do on the last step and how do we pay for that.

We need to fix healthcare for all, not merely enough special interest groups to sway the vote. Must our preschool children 👶 go to war in order to receive adequate, responsible healthcare?

I️ think that the problem with healthcare for our service men and women should be all inclusive from who, when and what we spend American lives for in the future. Today we are in a great discussion about war with N. Korea and much of the rhetoric from the public, politicians and the President sounds more like competitors at a sporting event rather than the discussion of the potential deaths, injury, cost to the nation and world. Our Political leaders lied to our nation during the Vietnam War costing thousands of dead and injuries to our service men and women and again after the attack on 9/11 justified the invasion of Iraq with false claims. We are now going on 17 years in a conflict spanning three continents as result of these claims and in a conflict that cannot be won on the battlefield regardless of the number of lives thrown into this conflict or the dollars spent. To make matters worse we are probably creating our current and future generations of enemies. Want to solve the problem with DVA? Stop generating injured and disabled service personnel. Those that come home disabled deserve our support because we are the reason that their lives are spent. This is a very expensive proposition for them, they live it day in and day out. We want to show them that we value their commitment and sacrifice then let’s do that by seriously evaluating the deployment and use of our service personnel. Let’s only deploy in a case of emergency, a national threat but not to satisfy political ego mania. Their lives and health are to valuable to use in other than the last resort. We should treat their lives as we would treat our own children’s lives.

Taking care of the brave men & women who have sacrificed so much for this country should be a top priority. There are many dedicated and skilled professionals who are serving our vets through the VA but both our veterans and the people serving them deserve better than what they are currently getting

Our veterans deserve the full backing of the American people. As such greater funding should be provided for VA programs. Better to use tax money to help heroes than to build a wall!

Uh Keri, maybe you should withdraw your comment. It's not really germane to this topic.

The only problem the VA has is republican intentions to cut funding. The VA is just trying to keep vets alive and they are the best at it.

The VA is expected to cover veterans’ needs and situations after their service. The fact that we dedicate an entire department to our veterans shows that we should care about them more.

All that money being paid and spent on our rich ex-Presidents could and should be spent on VA’s.

The only way you’re ever going to fix the VA is disband the government employees union, hold folks truly accountable for corruption, and pay DOCTORS competitive salaries so better physicians will want to work there. Too many patients complain that the doctor that they get to see twice a year, if they are lucky, are from a different country and English is not the doctor’s first language. Communication becomes difficult, and the veteran leaves wondering if the doctor understood what he or she was trying to explain what was wrong.

Yes please do! I have an issue of my own. I was forced out a few years ago and was given severance pay. Now the VA won’t pay me my disability until the DOD gets its money back. How is this fair or logical? I'm going to force you out of service, give you money to leave, and then take your disability pay back until the money I gave you is paid back.

Way past time to fix this! We as a country treat our vets with contempt instead of the honor and respect they deserve! Of course, that’s how we treat most everyone these days cuz we have a molester for president, a lying catholic crusader for VP, and. No one staffed in any departments to get anything worldly done! You probably don’t even know that Puerto Rico makes the plastic infusion bags for intravenous medicine delivery and due to them not having electricity STILL, all United States hospitals have a dwindling supply! So should we fix the VA? Absolutely and all the other things that go with GOVERNING! Stop being political and ask if this is important to the People of the United States! Not important to YOU! God, I can’t wait til women rule!
