What's Congress Voting On? Week of June 12, 2017
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
The House will convene on Monday to consider a bill to prioritize federal job training programs for the energy and manufacturing industries, in addition to a number of bills related to hydroelectric project permits. On Tuesday, it will consider a bill the Senate passed last week to expand accountability at the VA and protect whistleblowers. It will then consider bills as part of the third phase of the GOP's three-pronged effort to repeal and replace Obamacare, including bills to ensure veterans are eligible for premium assistance tax credits and reform medical malpractice suits involving federally subsidized care.
The Senate kicks things off on Monday by continuing debate on bill to expand sanctions on Iran for its ballistic missile program, support for terrorism, and human rights abuses. It'll also vote to confirm Kenneth Rapuano to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense. The rest of the upper chamber's schedule is yet to be announced, but Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee in an open session Tuesday.
