May 30: Dubke's Out. Can Anyone Get Trump Off Twitter?

by Countable | 5.30.17

The Daily Countable: Take Action Today!

TUESDAY, MAY 30, 2017

Good morning, CountaFamily!

Congress is still on recess, but news of the administration keeps churning. As of this morning White House Communications Director Mike Dubke is out and more shake-ups are expected before the end of the week as the administration continues trying to push back against the ongoing Russia investigation.

Perhaps disable Trump’s Twitter account? Just a thought.

The President: IN WASHINGTON

  • The only official item on the schedule for the president today is lunch with Vice President Mike Pence.

The House of Representatives: OUT

  • The House is still on recess.

The Senate: OUT

  • The Senate is still on recess.

What to Watch

  • European leaders are speaking boldly following the G7 meeting in Brussels last week. French President Emmanuel Macron called out Russian news agencies for election meddling standing next to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

  • Martin Schulz, chief rival to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, reprimanded her for "allowing" President Trump’s disrespect of Germany in Brussels last week:

  • President Trump went after Germany again this morning on Twitter.

Good luck out there today, CountaFolks!

The president's behavior and his tweets are becoming the single biggest threat to our national security. Forget ISIS,Russia and N. Korea. He is angering our long term allies with tweets and lies. I don't know where all VWs are made but the Jetta is made in TN. If they shut down their operations here in US this will not translate into jobs, jobs, jobs. While he is groveling to Putin, France's newly elected president stood beside Putin and told him off. Marvin is valiant, Merkel is wise, Teresa May has grace. What do we have? A crude, self serving oligarch wanna be. Now he is spouting BS on twitter, selling arms to Saudis, the cradle of terrorism. We are in grave danger. This country, built on the beliefs of freedom, and with the calloused hands if immigrants could be facing its final days. Get this spoiled, ignorant hateful piece of damaged protoplasm out of the White House and into jail where he belongs.

Trump's use of twitter is an embarrassment at best and a security liability at worst. He's an ego driven fool being played like a fiddle by Putin. How can he really think a former head of KGB would take him seriously as a peer? Putin is the cat and Trump is the mouse 🤣🤣🤣

Your obsession with Trumps tweets is enlightening as to the perspective of being an anti Trump narrative. This country has always clambered for more transparency, now that you have it you don't like it because he's not saying what you want to hear. Deal with it. Trump will be our President for 8 years. Yes, 8. I value his attempts to put United States on a track of fiscal responsibility, as well as a nation able to defend itself militarily. As for communication director on his way out, I believe if you use your source properly, it's not a "shake up" but simply his choice to move on. Perhaps the job was more difficult than imagined, or maybe he just isn't happy being a punching bag for liberal news outlets. The press has abandoned all sense of professionalism and no decent person wants to put up with it anymore.

I simply refuse to believe that the GOP wanted to impeach Clinton for his sexual behavior, but refuse to see what a threat Trump is! Speaking as someone who votes person, not party; the GOP needs to take serious stock in their behavior! Lest Gingrich forgets his Friday nights in Manuel's Tavern down in Atlanta, or Trump forget the numerous times he cheated on his TWO EX WIVES!!

Why is everyone so concerned with Trump twittering. I think they are nuts and have nothing else to do. Leave it alone for I want to hear from the Horses mouth not from the media.

Melanie, you did not hear what he stated. He said if it was BUILT in GERMANY not TN then they would have a tax on their product. Since Jetta was built in TN there would not be a tax on it. He is talking about a BORDER tax not a plain tax.

Watching Sean Spicer's press briefing. Question: Is Sean Spicer and the White House on LSD or are they all flock of ostriches with their heads in the sand or perhaps up their -----.

When when when are you going to censure this guy? HE is a national security risk is very bad for businesses. Before his term is over our allies will be countries with dictators, human rights violators and his buddy Putin. Why do you permit him to publicly embarrass us and insult our allies. Korea will shoot a missile and we'll be standing there alone while our allies say we had it coming because of Trump's treatment and belittling of them. This world needs those who believe in democracy and human rights to stand together so that we know allies have our backs and we have theirs, Unless, of course, the idiot's goal is to be "king of the world" and believes we and Russia, the Phillipines, Turkey, and Egypt, etc. are our allies. Bullies always believe that nice guys finish last and he is a bully because he has neither the intelligence or moral fiber to be anything else.

It would be nice if we could claim that President Trump were simply crazy, irresponsible, a super narcissist, but I think that his goal is to destroy the US. Regardless of our view, he is piece by piece dismantling our government, alienating our allies, harming trade, isolating our country and selling his allegiance to hostile powers. Stop his tweets!? H__l no, keeps him from making more trouble for the country. Encourage him to tweet all day long, 24/7.

We don't want him off twitter...he manages to display how obtuse he is with each statement. I would like for him to not be able to type the words "fake news"

That's a great question: can anyone get Trump off twitter. The answer seems to be no. Neither can anyone get him to have diplomacy with our allies, or to cut ties with his business and stop the conflicts of interest. Nor, has anyone so far, stopped him putting his family in the White House and giving them security clearances and letting them go on government business trips to countries where they can promote their business. If we find out the Trump administration was in collusion with Russia to affect the election is anyone going to handle that in the fashion it should be handled?

Trump needs to show his own responsibility for regulating his talk. Not just on Twitter, but whenever he talks! His speaking presentation is not reassuring nor clear, precise, knowledgeable and not simplistic using words! Twitter talk is not what a POTUS does.

Probably not. But then, is it unrealistic to ask Mr. Trump to behave Presidential both here and abroad. Is it appropriate to ask President Trump to attend to the affairs of state, not the affairs of an adolescent tweeter?

Newsweek reported that 49% of Trump's 31 million Twitter followers are bots or false accounts (leaving only 51% true, unpurchased accounts). He likes to speak the 'truth according to Trump' and often not according to any other source. This has become not only divisive but destructive and dangerous as he pads his narcissistic ego. This is not rugged and honest rhetoric as his fans would like to believe; our nation is at risk at home and abroad because of impulsivity and immaturity.

May 31st, national "Despite the constant negative press covfefe" day. Trump is not a well man. He should not be allowed to communicate electronically without oversight. He puts us all at risk.
