London's 20-foot-tall 'Trump Baby' Blimp Makes President Feel 'Unwelcome'
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
UPDATE - July 13, 2018:
- President Donald Trump said he felt "unwelcome" in London after the city's mayor, Sadiq Khan, allowed a 19-foot-tall "Trump Baby" blimp to fly over the Houses of Parliament.
"I guess when they put out blimps to make me feel unwelcome, no reason for me to go to London," Trump said in an interview with The Sun. "I used to love London as a city. I haven't been there in a long time. But when they make you feel unwelcome, why would I stay there?"
- A spokesperson for Khan said the mayor "supports the right to peaceful protest and understands that this can take many different forms."
- “Donald Trump is a big, angry baby with a fragile ego and tiny hands,” the blimp’s fundraising page reads. “We want to make sure he knows that all of Britain is looking down on him and laughing at him.”

President to be Greeted in London with Diaper-Clad 'Trump Baby' Blimp
What's the story?
- When President Donald Trump arrives in the United Kingdom next week, he'll be greeted by a 19-foot-tall, diaper-clad orange blimp caricature of himself.
- This is not typical protocol for when heads of state visit Westminster.
- London Mayor Sadiq Khan - who has sparred with Trump in the past - has given his approval for protestors to fly the so-called "Trump baby" blimp over the Houses of Parliament on July 13, the date of POTUS' scheduled visit.
“The Mayor supports the right to peaceful protest and understands that this can take many different forms,” a spokesperson for the mayor said. "His city operations team have met with the organizers and have given them permission to use Parliament Square Garden as a grounding point for the blimp.”
What do you think?
Should foreign dignitaries expect a certain degree of respect when visiting the U.S., and should the same respect be granted to U.S. diplomats overseas? Would you support (for example) flying a diaper-clad Angela Merkel over the White House during a visit by the German chancellor? Should Congress pressure London to reverse course?
