5 Ways to Make Money by Teaching Online

15 million people - so far - have lost their jobs over the coronavirus outbreak. Many more are at risk. Whether you're trying to find a new occupation, or supplement your income, there are various avenues to making money online.
Here is a list of five skills that you may be able to teach online to make some money in quarantine.
Teach English to students all over the world
- Given its status in business and culture, many people around the world want to learn English.
- SayABC and DaDA are just two of the companies that match Chinese students with American teachers.
- They do require a bachelor’s degree and an online interview, but afterward, you can teach straight from your home computer.
- Typical contracts are three-months long and the pay starts at around $13 dollars per 40 minute session, plus an additional $4 for strong attendance. Other websites offering similar services are VIPKid and GoGoKid.
Mentor coders with programming knowledge
- Programming and software jobs have consistently been in high demand for the past ten years.
- Codementor is a website that allows you to help fix people’s coding problems in a 1 on 1 video session. You can also find work for yourself, setting your price and flexibility.
Tutor K-12 students in a field of your own choosing
Tutors.com is a website made for, yep, you guessed it, tutoring.
Set up a profile to teach lessons based on skills you believe students would want or need to learn, such as SAT prep, calculus, or writing.
You do need to complete a certification process and training to become a tutor through their platform, but online tutors average $30 an hour.
You can scout for students that may need your expertise, and the website also allows students to search out your profile.
Another program is directed at those who preparing for their GED.
Teach a foreign language
Some stay-at-homers are using their COVID-19 time to learn a foriegn language. Meaning: there's a need for foreign-language teachers.
For those who know a second language or a third, there are a few options for teaching online, including:
You schedule classes online and teach through Zoom. Note, however, that these websites require some teaching experience or certification.
Freelance tutor your specific skill

Websites like Fiverr and Upwork allow you to offer your tutoring skills on anything from voice-overs to design to editing to acting.
