This Week in Congress: Banning Insider Trading & Coordinating the Crackdown on Robocall Scams

How do you feel about this week's congressional agenda? What else should Congress vote on?

The Senate starts its week Monday with a confirmation vote on Dan Brouillette’s nomination to be Energy Secretary and a procedural vote on the nomination of a district court judge ahead of a likely confirmation vote Tuesday. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) also set up the potential consideration of seven more nominations to district courts plus the reappointment of a U.S. Postal Service governor later in the week.

The House will convene Tuesday for votes on eight foreign policy-related bills; including legislation to sanction Chinese officials involved in the persecution of Uighur Muslim minorities, fight neglected tropical diseases, ensure children of military & civil service personnel born or adopted from abroad receive U.S. citizenship, and call for the continued exclusion of Russia from the Group of Seven (G7). The rest of the week will feature bills to define & prohibit insider trading at the federal level, express support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and prohibit robocall scams.
