

Study: Global Internet Freedom Declines For 9th Straight Year

Freedom House’s annual 2019 Freedom on the Net research project has revealed some disheartening results: global internet freedom has declined for the ninth consecutive year. While social media can serve to create a level playing field for civil conversation under the proper circumstances, at least 38 of the 65 countries covered in the study have been using the internet to censor their people and spread misinformation in an attempt to frame the online narrative in their favor.
