Increase Investments in Prekindergarten Programs

We must close resource and opportunity gaps that prevent children from entering school. Learn more, and take action above or below.


Just over half of three- and four-year-olds (not yet in kindergarten) are enrolled in public or private preschool programs. Children in low- and moderate-income families are less likely to be enrolled than children in higher-income families.







Solutions:

– Provide funding and support for state efforts to enact or expand high-quality prekindergarten programs for four-year-olds.
