The GOP members of the House Intelligence Committee announced Monday that they had concluded their investigation into the 2016 presidential election and there was no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. They said they would issue a 150-page report documenting their conclusions. But where is it?
It turns out there are some steps that must be followed before the report can be released:
The committee is now discussing changes to the draft report. They have set a March 22 deadline to finish that process.
A meeting is scheduled March 22 to formally adopt a final draft of the report. Democrats on the panel are not expected to vote to endorse the report, which was authored entirely by Republican members of the panel and their staffs.
The final report will then be sent to the intelligence community to review and redact classified information as appropriate. There is no specified time frame for that process.
Once redactions have been completed, the report can be released publicly.
Meanwhile, Democrats on the panel, lead by Ranking Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), announced Tuesday the release of a 21-page "status report" of their efforts to compile lists of witnesses and leads they allege were ignored.
They hope to reopen the investigation if Democrats win back the House in November.
Do you think the House Intelligence Committee is right, there was no collusion? Are you curious to read the report? Do you support the Democratic position, that the investigation was ended prematurely? Should they reopen the investigation, or should they just defer to the special counsel?

House intelligence? Are you kidding? We haven’t seen intelligence in the house since Citizens United bought and paid for our public servants to instead serve big business and rich cronies. What a disgusting statement- if our House were showing even a glimmer of intelligence we wouldn’t be kissing Russia’s axx.
Devin Nunes and the GOP majority have sullied what remained of the GOPs credibility on national security. They have very clearly chosen short term political gains over the very democracy they claim to serve. The evidence is there, the Russia investigation is too big, any attempt to hinder it with false statements should be confronted with indictments for obstruction of Justice if not treason.
I don’t think the report is valid. I also do not think more time and money should be spent within the House committee as it would be more of the same. The Republicans have treated the investigation heavily favoring #45 and his administration. Whereas several agencies and reports have found the Russians interfered with our elections, the Republican members of the committee have decided to blow off their proof. This action by the Republicans, including their dismissal of the input from the Democrats of the committee is unprofessional and disrespectful. With that in mind, the Republicans are treating the voters with same high handed manner for this years mid-term elections and the 2020 elections thinking they won’t remember how they treated their responsibilities on the committee. The Mueller investigation has found Russian interference in the 2016 election and is relentlessly after the truth. My opinion is the Mueller investigation is unbiased. I have no desire to read the Republicans House Intelligence Committee. I feel it would be like reading yearbook signatures: ‘I hope you and Istavan have a great time at the convention this summer! Love Vlad’
Since Robert Mueller has issued indictments and several people have pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. I think Republicans did not do a thorough investigation.
The republicans need to start doing there job arrest people who lie and break the law. You congressmen are unbelievable. You allow people to break the law because they are republicans. Come on you should uphold the law.
Our governmental systems need a rethinking. There are not enough precautions against utter partisanship which is not protective of the greater good. I don't think that either party should ever totally dominate all committees. All decisions should require approval from both parties. I believe the Russia Investigations should go forward. So far, no branch of government is taking any tangible measures to protect us. Republicans are not taking this seriously. Dems can't do anything about it. It is not right and not safe.
I expect that Robert Mueller’s investigation continue to fulfillment. I expect that all of my senators and reps will protect Mueller’s position until Mueller concludes the investigation. If there is nothing up hide, then let that conclusion come as a result of Mueller’s investigation
There is no House Intelligence Committee. There is only an NRA fearing, Trump pandering, GOP cabal.
Once again we are seeing the Democrats trying to use their often seen efforts of denying and delaying anything which doesn’t fit their scheme of their view of the political opinion. Again it’s a case of “It’s Their Way OR NO Way”.
Nunes should be impeached/ tried for treason!!!
Devin Nunes is Toady to the King. What a reprehensible slap in the face to his constituents and to the Constitution.
What’s next is the FBI continues to do what it does.
The intelligent Americans will continue to vote out the crooked lying republicans A large glass of PA 18 everyone?
Mueller can’t turn up anything real so he’s committed to getting anyone he can on other charges totally unrelated! That’s like the police entering with a search warrant to check for drugs only but finding none but “We’ll just take the cookware”! This is costing the taxpayer a lot of money while all these attorneys are raking in the dough! End this stupid nonsense investigation now!
I’m expecting Mueller to continue his investigation and if any of Trump’s people made a deal with Russia to throw the election then I expect them to be prosecuted. I also expect anything (money laundering for instance) done by Trump before he was president to be addressed, and, if guilty, prosecuted. I expect any of the administration that attempted to change the outcome of an election (Hatch Act) to be prosecuted. And, any who have used their job to increase wealth (besides salary) to be prosecuted.
They keep on being the House Unintelligent Committee and have absolutely no credibility. They have shot themselves in the foot and will be looked upon with skepticism any time they attempt to address or investigate something in the future. Ryan has stated he does not control them which is a laugh. He has chosen not to control them. Consequently, they are finished for at least the next 10 years.
Fire McCabe now. He doesn’t deserve a pension from the people who he failed to protect.
A fake report. Every member of congress should be embarrassed y this report and I suspect many republicans and all the Democrats will not support this report. If republican candidates are proud of this report they should use it in their re-election ads
Sorry, this report is biased. Let Mr. Mueller finish his investigation, 'cause he's going to find the smoking gun....
