Primary Season Begins — Are You Ready?
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
What’s the story?
The 2018 primary season kicked off on Tuesday as thousands of early voters cast ballots in Harris County, Texas. And as Houston Public Media observed, "the midterm elections are often the overlooked middle child of any election cycle. But while they don’t get as much press as races during Presidential election years, the stakes are high."
How high?
36 states (and three territories) are voting for governor.
34 of the 100 Senate seats are being contested.
All 435 seats in the House of Representatives are up for grabs.
There are also a number of special elections to replace lawmakers who resigned.
What can you do?
The midterm elections will mostly be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. But there are various primaries and special elections before then. So:
Make sure you’re registered to vote in your state’s primary or special election. Head over to vote.gov to register.
