The EPA is one of the most important tools the US Government has in the fight against Climate Change, and President Trump wants an oil industry lobbyist to be its next leader.

Who Is Andrew Wheeler
The first thing to know about Andrew Wheeler is that he cannot be trusted to lead America's fight against Climate Change.
Wheeler actually has a long history at the EPA.
Wheeler first worked at the EPA from 1991 to 1995 in an office specializing in toxic chemical, pollution prevention, and right-to-know issues.
He then worked for two years in the office of Sen. Jim Inhofe (this guy) before working for the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee from 1997-2009.
That's when he began a well-paid tenure as a lobbyist for oil and extraction industry companies.
I guess all this sounded good to Donald Trump who appointed him to be #2 at EPA behind disgraced Scott Pruitt (this guy). Ever since Scott Pruitt's resignation, Wheeler has been the acting EPA administrator.
What does the EPA do?
EPA’s chief mission is to protect human health and the environment. It develops and enforces regulations to partner with congressional laws concerning the environment, endangered species, and hazardous waste.
The agency makes grants available to state environmental programs, nonprofits, and educational institutions for projects ranging from scientific studies to waterway cleanup to anti-pollution campaigns.
Pretty clearly, we can't accept Andrew Wheeler's nomination to the EPA if we are going to be serious about our fight against Climate Change.
