Judge Blocks Trump’s Immigration Order; White House Seeks Emergency Stay
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
A federal judge has temporarily blocked President Trump’s executive order barring immigrants and refugees from certain countries, saying the order could cause "immediate and irreparable injury" to the United States. Immigration authorities and airline officials have resumed allowing entry to those holding legal visas.
The White House is preparing a petition for an emergency stay of the judge’s decision, calling Trump’s executive order "lawful and appropriate." In a statement, the White House press secretary said the President's order is meant to “protect the homeland.”
