Yesterday, the South Dakota House of Representatives passed a bill that would prevent teachers from acknowledging the existence of transgender people, including some students in their own classrooms. The bill is a direct attack on youth who are transgender and gender nonconforming.
The bill is so bad that teachers say it would create a problem while seeking to solve one that doesn’t even exist in the classrooms.
This is now the fourth anti-trans bill the South Dakota legislature has introduced in the state this year. State lawmakers are using fear and misinformation to push an agenda that simply attacks transgender youth in South Dakota, and this coordinated attack must stop now.
Sign this petition and tell state lawmakers that their attacks on trans youth has no place in South Dakota.
