President Trump's former personal attorney Michael Cohen will testify voluntarily before the House Oversight Committee on Feb. 7.
Why it matters: Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison last month after pleading guilty in the Mueller investigation, including on charges that he lied to Congress about the extent of his work on plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. Cohen is also expected to face questions about his campaign finance violations and whether President Trump directed him to pay off women with the express purpose of influencing the 2016 presidential election. Cohen said Thursday that he would like “to give a full and credible account of the events that have transpired.”

Although at times truth is not a politicians forte, this administration has taken lying to a level all by itself. The entitlement shown by #45 and his administration is a slap in the face of those who deserve the truth. As the unraveling continues, #45 hourglass is running on empty. Along with the testaments of a number of those who worked for then candidate #45, as well as those who were in his administration, the Mueller investigation has proof to back up the statements made about the dishonesty, criminal acts and any connections with Russia. The closer #45 is to the fire, the more outlandish his Tweets and actions. You can be sure part of #45’s grandstanding on the topic of The Wall, is to blow smoke about to obscure the eminent fall from the pedestal #45 has set himself upon.
Wow. Porn stars, finance violations, fixer lawyers, adultery, stealing from your own charity, what more could he possibly say that would add to the list? Oh yeah: tax fraud, tax evasion, collusion with mafia, illegally hiring immigrants, marketing fraud.
Ask him about the Novartis scam. That’s why you don’t see Trump honoring his campaign promise to get Big Pharma under control.
And he'll "testify" to whatever they tell him to under threat.
Go get ‘em, tigers!
Quote: Cohen said Thursday that he would like “to give a full and credible account of the events that have transpired.” - Countable Hmm. The use of the word CREDIBLE instead of the word TRUTHFUL is interesting. I think Cohen’s intent is to be convincing, rather than truthful. He, like President Trump, is a proven liar. I don’t expect him to stop lying to us now.
Hopefully American voters and their elected Representatives will be paying attention. No matter what lies Trump puts out to try to distance himself from his former lawyer and fixer the tar is going to stick.
back stabber, lying sack of @#$%@$#^@#$%^
There is a small portion of our country that will not believe anything except what Donald Trump says they can believe. Michael Cohen was part of this group. It's time to let go of this ball and chain renegade president. This is only the beginning.
The fixer should spill the beans on the mob boss! We don’t have an administration, we have a crime family.
Just look at what you are supporting in the white house. This guy makes Nixon look like a boyscout.
The truth will set you free
I can't wait to see what he has to say before the house.
It doesn’t matter what he says, he has no credibility with anyone.
And so it begins The truth about this terrible human being sitting in the Oval Office will come out. Trump is not, has never been and will never be presidential. He is a fake, a con man, a terrible human being. It’s time to impeach and remove from office. All of his enablers need to leave with him. I’m talking about you Posey and Rubio. Scott you need to prove to you constituents that you are not just another enabler.
Sing on, brother, sing on!!!
I will be interested to hear what he has to say. I am glad Cohen turned State's Evidence but I'm sure that if his &*() were not in the fire AND the fact that Trump did a "Pontius Pilate when they were..Cohen would have kept his silence.
Michael Cohen is a weasel and a waste of our Congressmen’s time and our taxpayer dollars. But I guess Congressmen need to get titillated with salacious material from time to time. We did not vote for a Virgin in Donald Trump. We’re fully aware of the behavior he was capable of, but is refraining from in the Oval Office, unlike numerous previous presidents, including the seemingly well behaved ones. But I guess Congressmen need to stick their heads into sexy dirt once in a while to make their lives more interesting (?). I think they should give Michael Cohen a pass. The courts already ruled in Jonathan Edwards that it’s not a campaign violation to try to protect your reputation. Trump did nothing wrong and Cohen is trying to sell the president out to give himself a lighter sentence on all the sleazy stuff he did on his own time.
He’s just a compulsive liar. Why waste your time.
Republicans should have done their job the first time.
