Americans who get their health insurance through the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) marketplace have until Friday night to enroll for 2018 coverage.
According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), about 4.7 million have already signed up for coverage.
The enrollments may not be enough to grow the program—which could be what the Trump administration was hoping for.
The administration halved this year’s open-enrollment period to 45 days, down from the 90 days consumers had in previous years. It also decreased advertising for the program, and discussed ending the mandate that Americans have health insurance. Amidst all this uncertainty, multiple health insurers increased their premiums.
And, two weeks before enrollment began, President Donald Trump announced that the government would stop reimbursing insurance companies for providing cost sharing reductions (CSR) to low-income individuals.
For all these reasons, experts are predicting that 2018 enrollment will be 20 percent lower than previous years.
President Trump has vowed to return to repealing and replacing Obamacare in the near future.
ObamaCare premiums are going up, up, up, just as I have been predicting for two years. ObamaCare is OWNED by the Democrats, and it is a disaster. But do not worry. Even though the Dems want to Obstruct, we will Repeal & Replace right after Tax Cuts!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 23, 2017
Is Obamacare a "disaster"? Are you not signing up for that reason? Or are you one of the 4.7 million who enrolled? Do you want Congress to try repealing and replacing again? Hit Take Action and tell your reps, then share your thoughts below.

Shame on Trump and his strange team of republicans! The ACA was designed to roll out slowly with improvements over a twenty year period to improve our Healthcare. The ACA would have increased the number of collage bound young people going into Healthcare fields. More Doctor's, Nurse's and all. When the lucky people who had Repesentive's and Senators willing to go to townhall's they were able to tell the congress people that the ACA was working perfectly. The real people loved it. So, Trump and his inabler's can't have citzen's enjoying good healthcare, oh no!
Ingesting cannabis flowers is a holy sacrament. The curative effects are a beautiful gift. Thank you cannabis for saving my wife from opiate addiction, and me from insanity.
Do not get rid of obama care
ACA was started, Affordable Care Act or Obamacare, to help Americans get affordable healthcare, not punish them. It cost states and federal government tons of taxpayers money for emergencies healthcare. We spend twice as much for health care in the world and pay more then enough money to cover every person. What is up with this? It call greed $$$$, alias free market. Healthcare is a privilege, not a right?
The ACA was not a disaster. More Americans could access health care under the ACA. The GOP does not care about the majority of Americans having access to health care. Unfortunately we'll all pay a price for their flagrant disregard for the quality of our lives! Vote in mid-terms if you care!
To John McCain, I may have not voted for you, but my prayers are with you.
See if this can be extended. People will be hurt. This is a value and benefit to Americans.
Extend the period of time.
I think so, He is the Terrible one, and Obamacare is back.
Obamacare saves lives. President Obama got 15 million Americans got health insurance due to it. I have a message to The Republicans and Trump stop making America worse.
Vote to extend deadline.
Obamacare is a mess for anyone who cannot get subsidies. We need a single payer system that works for the middle class. We need to end profit making healthcare in the US. It is not sustainable and it is not working for many Americans. When crappy healthcare coverage with 6000 dollar deductibles cost over 17k a year, we need a change that helps people, not rips them off. We are the richest nation in the world. We must do better than this. And when we have a crappy tax "reform" bill that will transfer more wealth from the middle class to the wealthy by creating deficits that will cause more cuts to middle class and poor people we will be screwing our grandchildren. Pres Reagan once said government is the problem not the solution. But our gov is a system by, for and of the people so he really meant that "the people" or masses are the problem. And that has been the Republican playbook ever since.
