How Do You Use the Daily Countable? How Can We Improve Your DC Experience?

Greetings Countable commenters, critics, and Take Actioners...

Like Congress, we at Countable work for you. Unlike Congress, we want to get better and more efficient at our job.

We’ll be querying you about a number of ways we can improve Countable over the next few days, but this afternoon, we’re focusing on the Daily Countable.

The Daily Countable

Each morning (if you’re subscribed), you wake up to a newsletter about the issues you care about most. Sections include:

• Intro—Our digital water cooler, where we discuss what everyone’s talking about this a.m.
• “On the Radar”—What will you be arguing about today with colleagues, internet strangers, and estranged aunts?
• “Under the Radar”—Stories you may have missed but need to know.
• “Your Gov at a Glance”—We outline the president’s schedule for the day and what the House and Senate are up to.
•  “What You’re Saying”—Thoughts and missives from you, our Countable community, on bills and news.
• “But wait, there’s more!”—Additional stories you can use as fodder when making your case to colleagues, internet strangers, and estranged aunts.
• “And, in the End…”—A parting story to consider while driving to work/feeding your pets/deleting the Daily Countable.

The DC isn't meant to be read; it's meant to be used—a way of getting you in touch with your lawmakers so can let them know how to vote on current bills or what legislation they should introduce.

How can we make the DC work better for you?

• What sections do you want the DC to include?
• Anything you skim past? Do you want us to remove any sections from the DC?
• We post the DC online at 7am, deliver it to your inbox at 9am, and inform you of its presence around 10am. Do you want it earlier? Later?
• We typically include two major headlines in the DC (example: 🕊️Trump administration calling for Afghan peace talks, and... 👩🏿‍🌾Has the USDA hurt the "organic" label?)  Would you prefer one? Or would you like to see more info in your subject line?
• Any other thoughts about the DC?
