I live in Utica, NY. We have a tier two refugee center here; among the busiest on the east coast. We've resettled over 15,000 refugees since 1981. There have been zero terrorist attacks here in that span of time. Terrorism didn't start yesterday. It didn't start in 2014 or on 9/11. Do some homework. Grow up.

That all sounds and looks very impressive but I believe is pure BS. There is absolutely no way to do all those thing effectively while bringing in people from areas where record keeping H as been destroyed, never existed or so simple that it is easily counterfeited. In addition all these pictures are showing family units while the "refugees" are mostly men between the ages od 18 to 35, most cannot speak English and are illerate and the health exam shown just doesn't happen. These people are brought in and dumped on a community without any warning and are given "assistance" that our Vets and Seniors would be ecstatic to receive. Keep them out until we have a virtual foolproof way of 1) making sure they are who they say they are, 2) fully understand that if they do no assimilste, not try and get us to conform to their 1400 culture and way of life, they wii be deported an 3) if they are not self supporting within 3 years they will be deported. Non of this will happen ifHillary is elected orvthe Dems Get Control Of Congress.

I'm begging members of congress to fight this EO on banning refugees. There have been no attacks by anyone from any of these countries. These people are fleeing war- it's women, children and families. This does nothing to keep us safer. The data confirms it. You know this to be true!! Please do not let us repeat the mistakes of the past. We cannot give up who we are.

You can ask me. My father was the highest ranking officer in the PSYOPS division of South Vietnam. My uncle was a General and commander of the airborne during the Vietnam War. We all immigrated as refugees.

My heart hurts, I believe barring refuges in itself is immoral. Let alone banning only the countries who are Muslim and not the countries Trump has business ties to. I am a 4th generation immigrant. I did not choose my ancestry and my ancestors safely arrived to the land of the free via Ellis Island. I am grateful my ancestors wanted a better life for themselves and their children and grand children. This is all these people want and right now this is all I want. I do not want my children, grandkids, great grandchildren and beyond to live in fear, tyranny, narcissistic, and an unjust society. My prayer is for justice and peace and that our politicians reclaim civility, truth, equality, and peace. Please stop this madness! Time to take our American pride and act on it! Reverse his orders, make it stop!

"Extreme vetting" = Xenophobia. This is unAmerican and inhumane.

If Muslims want Sharia Law, they can't come here. Sharia is contrary to our Constitution and contrary to equality. Woman in Saudi Arabia can't drive cars, in Iran woman are forced to wear Hijabs. In Yemen, woman can't run for political office, and Jews are hated more than any group in every single Muslim-dominate country. If Muslims come here, they must love freedom, liberty, and love Jews too.

It appears as though America has lost the ability to empathize. We have our heads stuck so far up our asses that we can't answer the question "What would we hope for from other countries if we were in a similar situation?" When it seems wrong, it is helpful to bring oneself back to these simple questions. Take action against this absurd xenophobic, islamophobic ruling.

I'm a constituent calling to urge the Senator to go on the record rejecting Trump's executive orders targeting refugees and immigrants from Muslim countries. Targeting people based on their religion is wrong and unconstitutional. Shutting the doors on some of the most vulnerable people in the world—refugees seeking safety—makes our country look shockingly morally bankrupt. Please vocally and resoundingly reject Trump's Muslim ban. Targeting those of the Islamic faith and stating that preference will be given to Christians violates basic principles upon which this nation stands. It further gives ISIS fuel to further endanger American lives!! Please, this lunacy must be stopped by Congress! Thank you

It would seem to me that that process is already pretty extensive. And if they are illiterate, don't speak a lick of English and don't know American values. Yet somehow pass the rigorous process to become citizens. That's hard enough. Wouldn't the test already included American values? It's a process of proving you're safe enough to become apart of American culture on some shape fashion or form that is productive to its growth. The process seems solid. Our top terrorists in this country are primarily American born. Shouldn't we be vetting them?

Doubt our president would pass this vetting, especially the part about believing in American values!

I think if the procedure for hiring police were as stringent we wouldn’t have nearly as many problems as we do. Many of them seem more of a threat than immigrants.
